Mason's POV
Why does Monday have to come sooner?
Who made it so that weekends only lasts two days?
Why can't it be like three or four days?
Why can't the whole week be a weekend?
These are questions that's been bombarding my hung-over mind as I took my time to leisurely stroll the school hallway. I take occasional stops and lean in the lockers that's littered in the hall to support myself and wait for my headache to tone down.
I mentally took a note to never drink alcohol as much as I did last night.
There I was in the hallway; minding my own business when I someone bumped into me. One thing about people recovering from hung-over is that they're extremely irritable.
In my hung-over state of mind. I caught glimpse of a girl with golden locks, the culprit.
"Watch where you're going Blondie."
"Sorry." She muttered.
Seems I'm not the only one running late today. She collected her things and tried to move past me.
I couldn't just let her get away.
I mean, we're already late. Might as well own up to it and have a little fun.
With every attempt she tried to move past me, I blocked her.
She glared at me.
"What?" I feigned ignorance.
"Let me through." she gritted.
"Why?"
"Because I'm late."
"You and me both."
"What's your problem?" she snapped.
"Well for starters, I'm hung-over. You? What reason do you have for being late this fine morning."
Come to think of it. I haven't really seen this girl around since today. Is she new? Curiosity got the best of me.
"Tell you what, tell me your name and I'll let you through." I proposed.
"No. I'm not going to tell you my name."
"Then it's settled. You and I will be stuck in this hallway." I shrugged.
"Let me through, or else." She threatened.
I snickered.
A feisty one I see.
"Or else what Blondie?" I challenged.
"One last time Let. Me. Through." she gritted.
"Blondie, do I have to repeat myself?"
Jeez. What an attitude.
She sighed. "Fine, you've given me no choice."
"What are yo-" I didn't even get a chance to finish what I'm saying.
She cut me off by stomping my right foot.
I immediately backed away from her.
"What the?!" I exclaimed.
Gone was the hung-over state of mind, irritation took its place.
Blondie's good.
I clutched my aching foot as I watched Blondie disappear into the hallway.
******
"Nice of you to grace us with your presence Mr. Carter, and like always you're late. Take a seat." I didn't really care anymore at this point.
It surprised me to see Blondie in this class.
The empty seat beside her didn't go unnoticed; though there was a bag on it. It's a no brainer. I smiled sheepishly as I devised a plan in mind. This is payback for what she did in the hallway.
Blondie looked just as surprised as I am.
"Sorry, this seat's taken." A hint of sarcasm in her voice.
"Nice to see you too, Blondie." I pulled the chair beside her.
"Are you deaf? I said this seat's taken."
"Really? I don't see anyone."
"Dude." she scoffed. "Don't you see the bag?" She gestured.
"Nice try Blondie, but I'm guessing it's yours."
"What makes you so sure?"
"Wild guess." I shrugged.
I picked up the bag on the seat and handed it to her.
"'There is a charm about the forbidden that makes it unspeakably desirable' could someone elaborate this sentence?" Our teacher asked. Nobody raised their hand so he continued. "You're all teenagers, I'm sure all of have felt this feeling at some point."
From my peripheral vision, I saw Blondie raise her hand.
"A brave soul... Ms.?" Our teacher trailed off.
"Brooks." she stated. "I think that to us humans, one of the greatest pleasures' in life is-"
"Suck up." I faked a cough.
She ignored me.
"doing what people say you cannot do. If we-"
"Know-it all." I continued to fake a cough. I was trying to get a rise from her but she continued to ignore me.
"want something we can't have. The more it's forbidden, the more we desire it; therefore adding to its appeal."
"Nerd." I coughed up.
"Very well said Ms. Brooks." The teacher praised her. "As for you Mr.Carter, do you have a lump in your throat or did you swallow colorful words that you just cough out when you feel like it?"
"Well, I love English so much I decided to swallow colorful words as you put it." I gestured to him. "That I can't contain it anymore. They need to be released."
The class laughed.
"I don't tolerate mockery in this class, I'll send you out if this happens again. I don't care if your last name's Carter. Understood?"
"Noted teach." I saluted him.
I can see Blondie trying to contain her laughter.
"Psst." I poked her arm. "Do you have anger management issues?"
"Excuse me?"
"I asked if you have anger management issues. You know... earlier?"
"No."
"Then why'd you stomp my foot?" I whisper asked trying not to draw any attention from the teacher.
She didn't answer. Instead, she looked back to our teacher; Mr. Black, Blue or Brown was his name, why did our teacher has to have a color for his surname? It's confusing. She pretended to listen but I knew better.
"Why'd you stomp my foot?" Still no response. So this is how it's going to be huh? Well, I'm not giving up that easily.
"Hey you Blondie, Why'd you stomped me? Give me an answer, why'd you stomp me?" I tried to sing as discreetly as I could. I sang the words to the tune of Call Me Maybe. Over and over again and I can see she's starting to get annoyed.
"Hey you Blondie, Why'd you stomped me? Give me an answer, why'd yo-"
"Would you please stop it?" She glared.
"What?" I innocently asked.
"That singing! It's getting on my nerves."
"Oh, you mean this? Hey you Blondie, Why'd you sto-"
"Yes, that!"
"Then answer my question." I stated. Since she refused to answer me, I continued to annoy her with my singing. "Hey you blond-"
"Okay! Okay! I'll give you an answer just stop with the singing." she huffed.
"Great."
"You wouldn't let me through so..." She shrugged.
"I gave you an option, I politely asked for your name. You know what; you seriously have some anger management issues."
"I don't have anger management issues. You're just annoying."
"Annoying? Me? I wouldn't call my awesome self annoying. Irresistibly charming maybe but not annoying." I smiled sweetly.
She rolled her eyes at me.
When the bell rang, Blondie hurriedly went out off the room; hastily gathering her things on her way out.
Tyler walked up to me with a baffled look on his face.
"Who was that?" he asked.
"Blondie." I casually said.
"I meant, what's her name?"
"I'm still working on that."
"Is she new?" he asked.
"Probably," Then it occurred to me. "Hey, you're president of the Student Council. Shouldn't you be the first to now about new students like her?"
"I was busy." he answered.
"Can look her up for me?"
"Dude, no. You're being creepy."
"Come on," I pleaded. "With you being Student Council president and whatnot, it'll be easy. "
"You know I'll pretend this conversation never happened." and with that he took his leave. It sucks that my bestfriend is a moral person sometimes. The shit we could've done if only he gave in.
I shook my head.
But that's what's great about him.
I got distracted by Tyler earlier that I didn't realize the black iPhone on the desk beside me.
Well, what do we have here.
The universe must love me.
I picked up the phone and checked it. I run a thumb over the sticker on the back of the phone with a word 'Chloe' on it.
I chuckled.
"Hello, Blondie.'
A/N: Welcome to the world of Chloe and Mason!
Thank you for making the decision to start this book, it means a lot to me.
Chloe's POVA week has gone by since school started. Today was the first time I was late to class, I blame my bed for that and the stupid guy I met in the hallway earlier. The problem is, being the new kid as a senior is hard because students my age has already established their circle of friends; they each have their own cliques. You could refer to me as the outcast, I guess? The lone wolf; an omega, looking for a pack. Mum's right, I should stop re-watching teen wolf. It's started to affect my way of thinking. "So I've been thinking, since you're all graduating how well do you guys know your peers? Like the guy who sits next to you in Chemistry or the guy passing you by? Do you really know them?" our teacher stated."Aren't you a little bit curious about their lives? Who they really are inside?" She paused. "This is why I decided to give you this project. I'll be assigning each student a number, the student who has the same number as you is likely to be your partner, and no they a
Chloe's POVI can't help but smile as I watched the stupid kid's face turn a bright shade of red both from the embarrassment he's faced with and the pain caused by my first. Maybe he's right, I might have a bit of an anger management issue. Or maybe it's just him and his immature antics. Can you blame me? I've been holding it in since this morning and a girl can only handle so much. Seeing him in that state ignited something inside of me."What? What now? Where is that arrogant jerk that blocked me in the hallway earlier, huh? The one mocking me in English?" I mocked. "I never would've guessed you're a pussy, a total pussy! I only threw you one punch." I lifted my finger. "One! And now you're completely speechless. You should have told me that the only way to shut you up is by punching you straight to the face so I would've done it earlier.""What is going on here?" a voice boomed. The attention quickly shifted from Mason and I to the man standing at the entrance of the cafeteria.
Chloe's POVWhen I got back to class, all eyes were on me. I looked around and saw Andy. I quickly made my way to her. She's a familiar face I'm in need of right now to help me distract myself about the attention I'm starting to get from other students. So much for trying to keep a low profile. "So? What happened? What did the principal tell you? Are going to be suspended or something?" Andy inquired."No, it's worse." I replied. "Remember the project in Health? Well... Mason's going to be my partner.""How'd that happen?" She asked. "Did you know his father's the Mayor?" I inquired. She had this look on her face that confirmed it all."Clearly, a stupid question." I continued. "Of course you know, you've lived here longer than me."She chuckled. "Which reminds me, are you going to Jessica's party tonight?""What party?" I asked. I was m out of focus and still trying to wrap my head around the idea that I’m stuck with the stupid kid for three months. "The welcome back to school pa
Mason's POVGetting screamed at first thing in the morning is bad enough as it is especially if you have a hangover but, getting kicked out of your own bed is way worse."What the hell?!" I exclaimed; standing up."What did you do to me?!" she screamed. Well, she was more of accusing me.Damn, I forgot Blondie's here."I didn't do anything to you, okay? Relax..." I yawned."Explain then! Why am I in your room? And why am I wearing your shirt? Did you do take advantage of me?!""What?! No! I brought you here last night after the party. You were so drunk; I didn't know where to drop you off." Is she serious? I'm offended she'd think I'd take advantage of a drunken girl."What?" she looked confused."Calm down and I'll explain everything." She took a deep breath and nodded.Cautiously, I sat at the edge of the bed.Damn! Gotta say, didn't expect Blondie to go through with it. I keenly watched the girl I dared to do a strip dance in front of everyone. I gave her that dare thinking she wou
Chloe's POVI can't believe what happened. My first high school party in a new country and I managed to make a fool out of myself. This is why I shouldn't be allowed to drink alcohol. I'm shit at holding my liquor and I do stupid shit when I get drunk. But the worse part of it all, is not being able to remember the shit I'd done.I should consider myself lucky since he's the one who found me. I could've ended up in a worse situation. Which reminds me, I should probably thank him for last night.I took my time looking at the pictures that's put on display in their living room while I waited for Mason. I felt my phone vibrate with Mum's name flashing on the screen. I forgot to check my phone earlier because of the embarrassment I was faced with and the consequences of alcohol. "Hello?" I hesitantly answered."Thank god you answered! I've been calling you since last night. Where are you? Are you okay?" she asked, concern evident in her tone."I'm fine. I stayed at a friend's house last
Chloe's POVI ran as fast as I could the minute I got out of his car and into the house. I quickly shut the door behind with no turning back. What did I just do? Why am I such a girl sometimes? Stupid!I crossed the small distance from the front door and into the stairs with urgency. Right now, I want to be locked in my room; contemplating my life decisions."Hello darling." Confusion flashed in my Mum's face when she took my appearance in. "Everything okay?""Yeah, everything's fine." I was out of breath."Is that? A boy's clothes?" she inquired."No." I blurted. "Whose then?""Andy's. I spent the night at her place." I lied. I ran a hand on my hair in a futile attempt to look a bit less disoriented."Cool shirt." I ignored her remark and continued onto my way upstairs. I'm afraid she might ask other questions if I stayed in that spot for a little longer.I went up straight to my room and changed.I sighed.I can finally breath.I laid comfortably on the bed as I tried to relax. Fi
Chloe POV"Get me water! I'm thirsty!" Mason yelled from the living room.I groaned. I thought Mason was going to continue to give me the silent treatment but much to my dismay, it was the opposite of it. Hours had gone by since we came home, he's holding me hostage in my own home. I couldn't even get out of it with the excuse of going to school, he wouldn't let me. He hasn't stopped talking since. He is really testing my patience. I know I have his bruised up picture on my phone I could easily use it to blackmail him but, with me being the person who punched him. I sort of felt guilty as well. So I decided to endure it for a while."Here." The water almost spilled when I placed it on the table with much force than needed to.Mason reached for it and drank."Doesn't your nose hurt when you talk?" I asked."What? You're suddenly concerned for me?""Do I look concerned?" I sarcastically asked."Figures.""What are you even doing here?" I asked. "Go home, take a rest there.""Don't wa
Chloe's POVSaturday. It's a day dedicated to myself.Saturday was a sacred day. A day where I'll sleep in, lock my self in room with good food to keep me company along with a good book or either a good show to watch. It's a day of relaxation. It's the one day in a week wherein I get to recharge my energy for the up coming week. And this Saturday was extra special.Since the day I injured his nose. Mason has spent every waking hour in our house, determined to bother and annoy me since he's got nothing better to do. He didn't really come to school since he doesn't want to answer questions that will rise if people see him with a gauze. What of grades?Who cares?I leisurely took my time getting out of bed and freshening up. I've decided to join my family for breakfast.I stopped midway down the stairs. My ears tingled by the sound of a familiar voice I know all too well mixed in with my family's.I cautiously but hastily made my way into the kitchen. My heart sank at the sight in from me
