Sophia was horrified by the incident that happened just a few hours ago. The dead man's face flashed in her mind and a lone tear left her eye and rolled down her cheek.

She was shocked at this height of cruelty. Why would someone even ever kill ?! Don’t they have any heart?!
Her mind wandered to the past. She was nine years old when her mama and papa were killed mercilessly by the robbers that invaded their house at 2:00 am. She remembered how her mom shoved her down the bed and made her promise to not make a noise.

She remembered how her father was shot in the chest. She saw the men raping her mother with her own eyes and then shooting her in the stomach.

She was a child then. She saw from underneath the bed how her parent's body fell to the ground. She remembered her mother’s scream. She remembered the pool of blood that tainted the clean white floor that night. How her parent was laying loveless in the pool of their on their blood...

Everything changed that night...

That night made a nine-year innocent girl an orphan...

That night stole the childhood of an innocent girl...

That night made her traumatize for 2 long years and new few sleepless nights...

Her heart clenched with sheer pain and a sob escaped her mouth. Tears started to roll down her eyes tainting her pink cheeks.
Her mind was reminiscing of all the incidents of that night making her cry harder.

She could never forget the painful cries ad screams of her parents and the feeling of not doing anything to help them make her heart ache more. She had always wished that she should have died along with them but remembering all the dreams and expectations her parents had for her make her think positively away from all the suicidal thoughts that had engulfed her mind since that night.....

she had to fulfill her parent's dreams and for that, she has to live.....

A tear rolled down her eyes as she remembers how an hour before that incident her parents were loving and reading a bedtime story for.....

“Oh, God! Sophia are you alright?” Ella quickly rushed to Sophia, who was crying badly with her eyes closed and was shaking her head again and again.

“No! please no!” Sophia shouted still with her eyes shut and her jaw and fist clenched. She wanted to hide in the corner away from where the bodies of her parents lay motionlessly.

“Please stop them! Please help! Someone help!” Sophia continued to shout louder gaining attention and her colleagues gathered around her worried.

“Sophia? Please listen shhh you are okay,” Dr. Smith said shaking her shoulder to bring her back to reality but it was not helping.

“Help! Please help me!” Sophia shouted causing people to look at her with concern, worry, and pity.
No one had any idea why she was acting like this? What was going on in her mind?
She is the smiling and brightest person they have come to meet and seeing her condition made them worried.

“Bring some water. Quick!” Dr. Smith said and a peon quickly brought a cup of water and without a second thought, Dr. Smith threw the water on Sophia's face who gasped loudly and her eyes shot open and she was horrified looked at her surroundings.

Dr. Smith gulped and then said, “are you okay? Miss James?”

Sophia looked around her trying hard to remember how she got here. She was sitting in her cabin and everyone was staring at her with wide concerned eyes.

It took her a minute to realize that she was here all day and it was her traveled back in the past while reminiscing the heart aching moment.....

Today’s incident made her remember that night that she has so difficultly shut in the box of her mind with a lock.

It never happened before. After all those therapies, she was fine. All these nightmares finished when she was 14 and now at 27 her mind once again pulled her back to the past that she has so difficultly escaped.

“Dr. Sophia? Are you alright?” Her fellow doctor, Mrs. Jenna asked who was in her late fifties and was like a mother figure to her.

Gasping loudly, she felt her throat dry.

“W-water...” she managed to say and the doctor smith quickly brought the water bottle to her and gave her an open lid.

Sophia drank water like a man who has run a marathon. Everyone was staring at her with concern and she wanted to hide.

She didn’t want to tell anyone anything! She just wanted to shut those painful memories forever...

Sudden pain erupted in her head and she closed her eyes tightly.

“Dr. Sophia? Please tell us if you are alright?” Ella her best friend said in a concerned voice.

“I am okay. Sorry for the inconvenience.” Sophia finally said and looked at some fellow doctors who made faces as if they have been snatched off with some spicy gossip.

“It’s just today’s incident was taking a toll on me. I am tired.” Sophia said looking at only people who sincerely seemed worried; Ella, Mrs. Jenna, and Dr. Smith.

“Oh, dear! Please don’t burden yourself with the unnecessary baggage please put your mind to peace. You made me worried.” Mrs. Jenna said and embraced Sophia who tried to find some motherly warmth in her embrace but unfortunately felt nothing because she was not her real mother...

Her heart ached to remember how lovely it would have been if her parents were still alive...
But life is unfair and Ella has excepted it for its unfairness.

“I am sorry mom,” Sophia said to Mrs. Jenna, who smiled patting her back soothingly.
Yes, she calls her mom because it makes her feel like she does have someone whom she can call her family.....

She sighed as she wished for a normal life unknown to what the future beholds for her.......
