Sophia entered the cabin of her boss who was in his early sixties. He is Sam Williams, the owner of the private hospital where she works and is a very respectable man.
Sophia respects him. He is very generous and is very good with his employees.
“Hello, sir. How are you?” Sophia greeted politely and Sam Williams smiled at her and then motioned for her to sit.
Sophia sat down and looked at her boss.
“I am good, Sophia. How are you dear?” Sam Williams asked as he left the paper he was looking at and looked straight at Sophia.
No one would say this man is in his sixties because he looked no year above 45.
Sophia smiled and said, “I am fine, Sir. You asked for me?”

“Glad to know,” he said and then added, “yes dear, my friend’s son is severely injured and I want you to go look at this case personally.”
“Yes, sure sir. Which room number?” Sophia asked.
“No, he is not here. They want his treatment at his home. Kindly don’t ask any more questions. Just check up the man.” Mr. Sam Williams said so sternly that made Sophia squirm. Her boss was always a sweet talker. She wondered why he acted like a rude boss.
She nodded her head, “ yes, sure sir. When do I visit them?”
“Now,” Sam Williams said sternly.
“Now? But my duties are still left to be completed—.” Sophia started but her boss cut her off.
“This task is more important. We can find a replacement for your duties. I trust you Sophia that’s why I suggested your name.” Sam Williams said softly this time with a smile.
Sophia smiled happily, “Thank you for your trust sir. I will go,”
“Okay, the ambulance is waiting outside it will take you there. You have to stay there till the operation is successful.” Sam said filling in the most important detail.
“Oh,” She said with a frown, “ okay so I will go grab some essentials in case stay is long.”
“No need! You need to be there urgently. You can tell their driver to get your things. Now be quick,” Sam Williams said in a stern dominating voice, and Sophia bit her lip resisting to utter a word against him.
“Yes, sure sir,” Sophia said.
“Good luck!” Sam Williams said smiling but something about his smile was off. Sophia could feel it but didn’t give it much thought.
“Thank you, sir.” Saying this politely she exited the office and went to her cabin to grab her purse.
“Ella, I will be back in a few days. Mr. Sam gave me a case to take off and it is to be treated at the patient home. I am leaving now.” Sophia told Ella as she entered her cabin.
“That’s sudden,” Ella commented.
“Yeah! Okay, I am leaving. Take care.” Sophia hugged her and she replied to her greetings. _____
Sophia walked out of the hospital and saw the awaiting Ambulance.
“Is it the ambulance in which I am supposed to go?” Sophia asked the driver who nodded.
“Okay,” Sophia opened the back door of the ambulance and on the chair.
There were a lot of tools and medical machines placed within the ambulance. She frowned wondering why they would take so much machinery. If the case is that serious why not bring the man to the hospital.
Shaking her head, she took out her mobile and opened her new favorite novel app, a good novel. Scrolling down the library, she clicked on the novel, which was written by her favorite author, and started to read it.
After 30 minutes drive, Sophia wondered how far the patient’s house is. After 15 more minutes, she finally decided to ask the driver.
Knocking on the windowpane, she waited for the driver to respond.
“Yes, doctor?”
“How much more time before we reach our destination?” She asked politely.
“An hour, doctor,” Sophia gasped.
Another hour? This place was two hours away from the hospital and she was sure they weren’t in Chicago City anymore.
“Where exactly we are heading to?” She finally asked.
She thought that patient was in Chicago. Her boss should have told her about this!
“Mishawaka,” the driver said and fear started brewing in the stomach.
Ignoring everything, she relaxed back on her seat. Her phone beeped indicating low battery.
She gritted her teeth in frustration.
After another hour and her battery decreasing to 5%, they finally arrived at the place.
Sophia stepped out of the ambulance and looked around.
The place was densely covered with trees. She gulped realizing how dark there was. She noticed that there was no house around the house where her new patient resides. The house was built away within a forest.
A shiver ran down her spine as she noticed how there was no other house around this house. Fear invaded her senses and she looked at the driver.
“Why is this house located within a forest? Is there any other house near it?” Fear was very visible in her voice.
“Doctor, this is a farmhouse so it would be away from the main city. Also, there is no house within 7 Km as these lands belong to Mr. Nathan.” The driver told her.
“Mr. Nathan?” Sophia asked confused.
“The owner of this place. I will be taking my leave now mam, come let me drop you at the main gate.” The driver said and Sophia nodded.
From outside all, she could see was a giant tree. As she entered the gate, she looked around to see the vast ground and then a 2 story building at the distance. A small car was parked near the main gate.
“Doctor kindly gets into the car so I can drop you off at the main gate as the house is at a distance and master won’t like for his guest to walk till the main gate.” Sophia nodded and got into the car.
She checked the time on her wristwatch.
9:50 pm.
Sighing, she yawns tiredly.
The house came into her view and she noticed that it was made up of woods and glass. The house was beautiful and brightly lit. there were around fifteen young men that were standing outside the house. Sophia noticed how sturdy and muscular they were.
She got out of the car and looked at the place anxiously when she heard someone.
“Dr. Sophia James?” The deep husky voice made her turn around and her eyes laud on a young tall man.
“Hello, I am Nathan. Nathan Williams.” She heard the man say but couldn’t form a word as she stood there gaping there like a fish with her mouth hung open...

She thought of Mr. Nathan as anything but not like the one standing in front of her........
