Laura...
"Ryan Richard, will you have this woman, Laura Allen, to be your wedded wife, to live together in marriage, will you love her, comfort her, honour her and keep her, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, so long as you both shall live?" The priest's voice pulled me to reality from the deep ocean of my thoughts.
"I do," Ryan said with a very calm voice, his head held low.
My heart started thumping against my chest fast as the priest looked at me. "Laura Allen, will you have this man, Ryan Richard, to be your wedded husband, to live together in marriage, will you love him, comfort him, honour him and keep him, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, so long as you both shall live?"
My hands clenched into fists, my heart started bleeding as I forced myself to let the two simple words out. "I do." And it's done.
Alex, his best friend who was the best man today handed us the rings.
I extended my hand to him and he slipped the ring into my finger. I felt calm suddenly as he stared into my eyes with his warm yet foreign gaze that sent shivers through my spine. I slowly held his hand, and my hand started trembling. As he noticed that, he put his other hand below my wrist. I took a deep breath and slipped the ring into his finger.
It was supposed to be Aaron. The guy I love. It was supposed to be the best day of my life.
"Go now in peace and live in love, sharing the most precious gifts you have- the gifts of your lives united. And may your days belong on this earth. I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." The priest announced us as the husband-wife and all the guests who were present clapped their hands.
Now I didn't dare to look at Ryan. Though I stopped him from asking for any kind of husband's rights from me, I can't stop him from this. It's a must. And I hate it the most.
I prepared myself before he slowly started leaning towards me. My heart beating fast that I feared that it will jump out of its place. I have never imagined someone else kissing me. It has always been Aaron. It's okay, Laura. It's just a lip kiss like a simple peek. You can do this. And it's not that he will kiss my lips.
Who would miss the chance to kiss my lips?
When I closed my eyes and was ready to face the next moment, I felt his lips on my cheek. The breath that I was holding inside came out of my mouth like the leaking gas of a balloon.
I was slightly taken aback but tried to look normal as I felt he was staring at me.
He tried to prove himself innocent this time, didn't he? Of course, he planned it. He is already so lucky, the breadwinner but I think he wants more.
People are just greedy animals. When he gets a seat to sit, he wants a bed to lay down. Greed is all about acquiring things. Acquiring money, acquiring power, acquiring attention, acquiring time and so on. The running mantra is "I want. I want. I want."
Laura...The room was deafeningly silent. I couldn't even hear my heartbeats. It feels like concrete drying in my chest.I looked up and scanned the luxurious bedroom, adorned with flowers in every corner. Allen Group has a 60% share of Sea Queen 5-star hotel, so I should spend my first night here. Actually, I must. The hotel was as huge as a palace, rooms are so beautiful with Italian furnishings, black leather furniture, white shining marble on the floor, which reflected like a mirror,But there I was burdened by the weight of my shattered heart, wrapped in an expensive creation of a designer, sitting on a bed decorated with rose petals. It suffocated me like hell. I hate roses. I hate flowers. Why? I don't know. I am just not interested. When I was about to move and get up from the damn bed, I was interjected by the sound of the door opening swiftly by the man who is officially my husband for a few hours, he stepped in,With every step bringing him c
Ryan...It was almost midnight now, after the long hours of standing and welcoming guests, maintaining a smile that made my cheeks hurt and posing for innumerable photo sessions.Alex, some of my friends and Laura's cousin Rhia escorted us here. Though I was chilling with them, all I wanted to do was to collapse on the bed.But my friends, they did not let go of me. They teased me endlessly and shamelessly pulled my leg. for my own first night. My friends are still bachelors, and they seemed more thrilled than me over the prospect of the first night. Of course, Alex didn't annoy me at all. Because he knows the deal well.Anyways, after the eternal torture, they finally pushed me towards the room. With no interest, I entered and the first thing that invaded my mind was the pillow on the bed.I went to take the pillow but she started saying something and that's when my attention took hold of her, making me realise that she is my bride and she is kinda pre
Laura..."Mrs Laura."I got no way but to face them. I looked back at them and plastered a tight smile on my face. It was the manager of the hotel who called me, now he was grinning as if he has done something very big. Damn you. I cursed underneath my breath before I ambled towards them. The manager greeted me with the flowers in his hand. "I am the manager of this hotel. Mr Cameron." He introduced himself as he extended his other hand to me. "Congratulations on your wedding."I accepted his flowers and shook my hand with his. "Thanks."Now please, let me go. Don't ask about him.Mr Cameron nodded and rolled his eyes around, searching for someone. Must be Ryan. "By the way, where is your husband, Mr Ryan? We are waiting for him. Is he coming?"Damn it. Should I say that I am going alone? And he will go back later? No.... that sounds weird. All the cameramen are here and if I say something like this, the news will be stir
Ryan...Ms Ruthless. That's what actually Laura is. How can she already treat me like this? How did her boyfriend tolerate her?"Drive fast." Ms ruthless, I mean Laura spoke and the sleek car cruised to the entrance gate of Allen Mansion, running over the black tarmac so fast that the passing greenery became a hazy blur.Laura is always so cold to others and... doesn't care about anyone on this earth. Even marrying me was only for her satisfaction. After arriving in front of the Allen Mansion, I realised that they are not only billionaires but also... something more than that. The servants ran off from their places, got busy just to open the door of the car. As we got off, an old lady around 45 years old, wearing a black suit strode towards me and bowed politely. "Hello, young master. Welcome home. I am Kellie Kevin. The Butler of this mansion.""Hello." I gave her an awkward yet gentle smile before rolled my eyes and the luxurious painted masonry
Ryan...I didn't expect to see Elita here. And to ask me about the money in her purse. Really! She thought I stole her money. God! I didn't even know she took a purse that day. She is assaulting me for no reason, without any proof. And Laura. What's wrong with her?I let out an exaggerated sigh and turned at her. "Why did you give her the money?" I queried. This time, she really irritated me. Who told her to interfere?Laura gazed at me with a calm gaze. "What was I supposed to do? Keep quiet and tolerate you two?" She sounded like we assaulted her. Strange."Don't you think it's kinda humiliating? I didn't even know...""That's none of my concern. I gave her the money and that's it. I don't want to know anything else." She cut me off and combed something out of the wardrobe before she stomped into the bathroom."Laura, listen. I am not finished yet..." I called, but she didn't look back, didn't even bother to retort.I ran my fingers into m

Laura...Why is this guy staring at me like this? It gives me goosebumps. I mean, I hate the way he looks at me."What?" I broke the awkward silence that was building inside the room. Ryan didn't respond, he was not even blinking his eyes. What's wrong with him?"Ryan?" I called again, he finally blinked his eyes, back to his right mind."Yeah?" He replied, blank. As I gaped at him without saying anything, he cleared his throat. "Ah! I forgot. Ms Kellie came... a while ago. She said your grandfather is calling us for the breakfast! We should go." He said while standing up from the bed.I inhaled a deep breath and nodded before I strode to the dining room with him. I can avoid everything in this world, but not my grandparents. I am just helpless in front of them.Ryan...We walked to the staircase that flows into a large, wide hallway. It possesses the paintings, the original wallpapers from 1882 with classic Anglo-Japanese asymm
Ryan... When the formal breakfast ended, Laura and I went back to our room. I sat in my place. Yeah, the couch and watched her searching for clothes in the wardrobe. After what felt like an eternity, she took a white blouse out of it. "It's foul weather outside. It will rain anytime soon. I think white will be a bad choice for today." I said, leaning my back on the couch. Laura didn't bother or didn't even care what I said. She fumbled into the washroom with the white blouse and came back wearing it with her black-coloured plain jeans She stared at me for a while before she stood before the mirror and started scratching her hair. By god, I thought she will ask me if I was going to college like this. But now I guess Laura Allen would never notice me. I inhaled a deep breath and extended my hand to my luggage that was kept beside the couch. I opened it, drew a blue t-shirt out of it and started unbuttoning the current t-shirt I was wearing.
