Chapter 4

We have many choice for what happens in the future. Choose the thing that we think is good, then we will love it.

_

The view outside the office window was cloudy. I sat there staring at the computer screen occasionally. Many things I thought about, all quite draining and mental.

"How odd you silent, usually the spirit is working on the tasks that have accumulated," said Daniel to me. It's true he said, just looking at the pile of paper in front of me feels like throwing up. I prop up my chin in lazy feeling, put the pen on my upper lip while pursed my lips. Focus my eyes on the pen.

"Want coffee?" The baritone voice interrupted my reverie. I put the pen back on the table.

I lifted my head to confirm who have that voice. Rafi? Then my gaze shifted to his hand that was holding out a cup of coffee. I accepted it because I was currently thirsty.

Again and again without saying much he went back, as before. Indeed, people do not like small talk. He offers another coffee to Arumi and Daniel. They looked excited when received Rafi's gift.

"Thanks, Fi." said Arumi and smile at him.

"Thanks, bro!" I saw Daniel embracing Rafi.

My gaze turned to the small bowl Rafi gave to me. Latte, my favorite drink.  Apparently he knows my favorite drink.

"Thanks, Fi!" I shouted.

I wave, say thanks to him. For a moment, he turned the head even though it seemed faint I was sure he was smiling.

_

Those round eyes never looked away in another direction. The gadget in hand was a concern that the girl in front of me did not want to pass, who else but Arumi.

"Nad, are you busy on this Sunday?" asked Arumi. I turned to her. Her gaze no longer focuses on the phone screen.

"Umm, there's Rum," I continued to put the rice into my mouth with gusto. Not forget to swallow water so that I’m not choked.

"Ah, it's not fun, even though we want invite you to join a party of our office friends who’s  have birthday soon."

Daniel spoke up. His mouth which was full of lots of potato wedges kept on talking, spurting everywhere making Arumi look disgusted.

"Swallow first and then talk, dirty you know!" said Arumi.

The girl pinched Daniel's shoulder angrily. Wiping the table full of scattered tiny potato chunks. I chuckled seeing it. They are a perfect match.

"Uh, what day is tomorrow?" I asked them. The two of them stared at me for a while then looked at each other.

 "Saturday."

 "Saturday!"

I just remembered. Tomorrow my job contract as a new babysitter will start.

Patting the forehead, my hand reached for identity card that was lying on the chair next to me. Open it, then look for small card given by the man.

Get it!

I looked closely at the identity card. A full name, address, mobile number listed. No need to bother I have to meet him. I breathed free, fortunately I put in the located that i could reached.

My bad habit towards something is senile. I often forget to put something down, then forget about it. Maybe cause of the age factor. Ah, how could it be when my age is only 23 years old, 10 months old. Not too old to get dementia.

However, it is never applies to bad memories. Not. Even when those memories I want to forget so much, I always remember them.

Life can’t be as what we want.

There’s something can’t be easily forgotten, there are things that you most want to forget but still make an impression that you don't even want to disappear.

"Why, Nad?" asked Arumi looking at me confused. The glass in his hand put on the table. Likewise Daniel, he occasionally directs his gaze to me, it's just that he is still busy serving food in front of him. I shook my head while smiling at her.

There's no way I could tell him that I also have a part time job with CEO of that company. I put the paper back in the bag before they tried to force it away. Both of them were seen nodding their heads for some reason.

"You guys, don’t you’re feel bored, with our job now? Monotonous and nothing changes. Tired, I want to rest," said Arumi. The girl looks eagerly shifted the gadget. Daniel nodded beside her, it seemed he agreed with Arumi's words.

I smiled briefly before speaking to them,

"You can say that you’re tired, especially complaining, but remember there’s still many people out there who are not as fortunate like us. Didn't have a job, and live under the bridges terrible in the streets and can't even eat like we do now. At least a day can still eat 3 when we returned home could still lie down. We, actually a few of the many people who are lucky from the harshness of life. “Uh, sorry so mellow like this .... "

Both of them fell silent.

There was a sad look on their faces. Apparently, a little of my words made them understand better. Because life isn't just about complaining.

"Sorry, Nad. I'm complaining a lot because lately I'm so tired lot of a trouble,"

"No problem, complaining can be tired like what Nada said. But remember, you have to be grateful."

Daniel replied. We smile together. Today with them, I have learned to be grateful even though sometimes I still complain about this to the Life-Giver who is very kind to give many things and forgive human mistakes for the many bad rights that have been done.

"Sir, three packs of chicken satay, yes." I said from the table. As usual, I sit while waiting for the order to finish. It sure tastes really good, because I often buy chicken satay in here. So there's no doubt about that.

A dining area that provides seating for visitors. Also, the night situation filled with many stars makes people definitely stand to sit a bit longer in here.

A man who had almost covered white hair in his entire head, smiled and then he nodded at me. His name is Mr. Rahmat, a man who have 5 children and they’re still teenagers, still working even though he was  old. Being the backbone of the family is not easy. If in this case, I’ll definitely remember about Father. Ah, I don't want to cry anymore.

The smell of the chicken satay  is really tempting. From the wagon I could see smoke rising above it. Several skewers began to be grilled on the grill with the fan occasionally. Can't wait to bring it to home and eat with Mother and Alif. This thought makes me happy.

For a moment my eyes blurred. I rubbed it so I could see clearly. There, under a street lamp I saw someone walking towards me. The black hoodie also has a hat on its head. Because I don't want to seen as annoyed, I look away.

My phone on the table its shook. On top of the locked screen, a messages from unknown numbers come in.

I knit my brows.

Looks like the number is familiar. I unlocked the screen and immediately hit the message box icon.

"Tomorrow, don't forget to come, I'll wait at home."

I grumbled in annoyance.

Even though if I didn't accept the offer, tomorrow it should be a day for middling.

Ah!

The days to laying down myself is gone. I lean my elbows on the table, stroking the head that began to throbbing dizziness.

A light pat on the shoulder ruined my daydream. Shocked, I turned my head in a hurry. Black hoodie and gray hat. He's the man that who want to coming here. I squinted, confused what kind of response.

His hand took off the hat from the head. This man orderly his hair position.

"You--!"
