CHAPTER 06

BALTHAZAR'S POV:-

I was walking back and forth in my room, waiting for the news I had been waiting to hear for so long. I could not wait for them to give me the good news. But it was taking longer than I had expected it to be. I stepped out of my room and made my way towards the chamber of the witches who were busy with the process of getting everything done by its time. Of course there had to be a ceremony before we got to place the mighty heart back on its place. It had been centuries when we had lost the only hope of dragon's survival in this mortal world. Of course, we did not belong to this filthy world. Where they live and die just in a century. It was rare to see people living off a century. But those people were nothing but an old burden for the rest of the wor

My most trusted man, Kelly stepped out of the chamber of the witches and froze as he looked at my face. His face went pale as if he had seen a ghost. I turned around and took a good look at my surroundings. Once I was sure no one else was around us except for him and me, I turned back to him. I raised a brow at him and he bowed his head in respect. He was not just my most trusted man, but also the minister of the kingdom. After when King Joseph was brutally murdered and Raymond was ordered to take my brother away as he was the only one the mighty heart had communicated with, I and Kelly were the ones who took care of the whole kingdom and its people. But as the effects of the mighty heart was starting to wear off, we were starting to become mortal. The people who were older than my dad and Raymond, they started to show the effects of mortality and that was the reason why I was more worri

"My king, you should have relaxed in your room. I was coming to inform you whatever I had found out about everything." He started his speech and I rolled my eyes at him. His speeches were boring and I really hated when he stretched a simple answer by including millions of unwanted words in his sentence. I was already frustrated and I was not very good with patients. I held my hand up in the air to make him stop in his stupid speech he must have prepared in his head. I signalled him to cut it short. He bowed his head again after releasing a si

"I apologise for the delay, my King. But we are doing everything we can. It's just that we have not gotten anything from the other side. Prince Landon is still quiet and so Master Raymond. We can not do anything from our side if they do not respond at all." He replied in a sad tone and kept his head narrowed. He knew well how I would react after hearing his answer. I gritted my teeth and balled my fists tightly. I turned to the nearest wall and punched it hard enough to smash the perfectly painted walls. A hole appeared on the wall I had punched. I pulled my hand back and straightened up my cloth

"Ask someone to get this place cleaned up and fix the wall. And get a boat ready. We are leaving today. We need to meet my younger brother. It is time for us to pay him a visit." I replied to him and he nodded his head. I turned around and walked back towards my bedroom while Kelly started yelling at everyone, barking orders so they would get everything ready by the time I would step out of my bedroom aga

LANDON'S PO

Berry stepped into my office with a file I had asked her to find. As we did not have much to do, I decided to busy myself at work. I was definitely frustrated with things going on around. But I need to keep my cool. She set the file in front of me and I thanked her. She went away and I busied myself with my work. I was keeping a sharp eye on each and every single business my father had left for us. I never really understood why he had to start all those businesses. We were born to rule Mountainia. But Raymond always told me that there was surely a reason why my father dipped his hands in so many kinds of businesse

It was not so hard to get to work in that office. It was a usual thing we used to do at our mansion. I pulled my head out of the files when I heard a soft knock at the door of my office. Berry peeked her head in and smiled. I smiled back and gestured to her to come in. She came in with a tray in her hands. I frowned and looked at the huge clock that was set with the wall right in front of my work table. With a guilty smile on my face after seeing the clock, I rubbed the back of my neck nervously. "How did you survive without me all this long. You have been working since morning as if you are a machine. Mr Vulcan, you have to be worried about your health as well. Work is important but your meals are more important. If you are healthy, you will run your businesses smoothly." She almost scolded me as if she was a mama chicken. I chuckled hearing her and that angered her even mo

"Well it is a good thing then that you have been around me so you can take care of that business. It would be easier for me to take care of myself if you would be standing on my head with a tray of food in your hands. I will not mind having that opportunity by the way." I replied in a teasing tone and she narrowed her eyes. She started playing with the fingers, a sign that she was nervous again. Her cheeks turned pink and a shy smile made its way to her red lips. I pushed all my work aside and started eating. But my eyes were still locked on her beautiful face.
