CHAPTER 2

Happy reading….

6 months back

At Sahana and Aahan’s match making meet up.

"Sahana is the only child and she is a software engineer. Though she misses her mother but she never complained me for anything. Sahana is so strong and brave girl.", Mr. Viswa Sharma, Sahana’s father Introduced her to Aahan and his parents.

Sahana was sitting on the sofa exactly opposite of Aahan, she was clad in yellow salwar kameez. She bent down her head playing with her fingers and seemed extremely nervous. Aahan was in black and black tuxedo who also in the same situation. He noticed her long jet black hairs spread around her back in a thick layer. Her kajal eyes were settling down on her lap and her pink lips were slightly trembling. Every now and then her fragile fingers tucking her hairs behind her ear. The tear shaped earring twinkling with her acts and making noise distracting the awkwardness around her.

She is a traditional beauty, he thought!

Automatically a small smile crept on his lips watching her uncomfortableness. He was feeling the same, his hands were all clammy and heart was beating irregularly.

"Let them know each other ..We should leave them alone.", said Aahan’s mom, Mrs. Sudha Sehgal.

After they left, they both fell in completely confusion thinking about how to start the conversation.

Aahan took a long breathe and broke the silence first by saying, "No ..I don’t want this marriage ..I can't marry you."

Sahana looked up at him instantly hearing his words ,"Me too …" said surprisingly.

Both paused for a minute to understand the situation and after a while they opened up about the marriage.

"Even I said no, my dad will bring again another proposal for me.", she said looking up and meeting his coffee eyes. They were shining dark due to the sunlight which was penetrating through the room window and fallen on him.

"Same here, my parents also always after me to make my marriage. Your dad is very loyal accountant of our business and few days back in their talks suddenly our topic was brought up. That’s how dad put my marriage proposal before him.", Aahan said softly. He eyes noticed how she was glowing under yellow light complimenting her suit.

"We are middle class people but still uncle gives so much importance to dad. We are always grateful to him for that. Really happy to meet you people in person. But i don't know how to say no to them ? Do you have any plan?", she asked glancing at him.

“Are you in love?” , he asked taking her by surprise.

"N-No, I mean I haven't found my soulmate yet. I am not ready for a relationship ..I need time to understand it first then only I will think about it. What about you?", she stuttered in the beginning but some how replied honestly.

"Same here, I never felt that magic for any girl." , he too replied genuinely.

They both continued their conversation further talking about their jobs and lives. Suddenly Aahan got an idea to get out of this situation.

"I have an amazing idea if you agree with it.", he asked in a hoping tone.

"What is it ?", she asked him confusingly.

"We can say yes for now and after marriage we will slowly convince our families that we aren’t compatible for each other. Until we can live our lives according to our wish. You can continue your job in Switzerland also, I haven’t any problem with it. Just we are going to share same house and things that’s it. Rather your life is yours and my life is mine.", he said coolly as if it's that easy to pretend like couple.

Sahana pondered over his idea for a minute and felt actually good, "Okay"

She was happy at least he was a nice guy and supported her dreams.

A big smile made it’s way on Aahan’s lips at her reply, he didn’t thought she would agree that easily.

"Great! Can I tell you something if you don’t mind.", he asked formally with a bit hesitant.

"Yeah of course.", she smiled looking down her hands.

'You are looking pretty and your smile is very beautiful with deep dimples.", he gushed unknowingly.

She let out a small laugh pushing her hairs behind her ear and Aahan once again lost at her sight.

"Are you flirting with me?", she raised her eyebrows at him.

"There is no wrong in complimenting a beautiful girl.", he winked out of the blue. She looked amuse for a moment but didn't take it wrong.

He is playful. May be life with him isn't at all going to be boring.

"I am just kidding .. well thank you.", she blushed once again looking down.

{Present}

Sahana smiled at the naughty memory, it was still fresh in her brain as if it happened yesterday. Though their marriage was built on agreement but their bond was real. Aahan was really gentleman as he promised, he might be look womanizer outside but his heart was gentle. He never misbehaved with her nor tried to take advantage of her being alone with him. This thing about him scored good marks from Sahana. In the beginning of their marriage she used to feel nervous around him because it's new for her staying with a man. But as the time passed she had grown onto his presence and started feeling comfortable around him.

Today, he totally surprised her by his cooking. In this six months of their marriage, he never did something like this for her. They would do house chores by turns, when it was his day he would simply order something from outside but never entered in the kitchen. She felt little weird seeing his care today but didn’t show it on her face. Because Aahan had watermelon size ego, it could only feed it more and he would tease her for the rest of her life.

"Mr. Lazy ass.", she mumbled biting her lips. She watched out of window smiling unknowingly at the nick name she had given him.

Her brain automatically darted to last night dream. It's totally out of the blue for her to have such a cheesy dream about them. She never even imagined something like that with Aahan. Surely they would argue and fight over little things. At the same time shared a healthy intimacy like friends but these type of thoughts never crossed her brain. Then why all of sudden she started to dream about him. Sahana pondered over it again and again. She couldn't able to erase the images out of her brain.

For the world they were husband and wife but in reality they weren't. Their parents were so happy for their bond and started expecting more. One day they had to separate their ways and tell them truth about them. She didn't know what life had written for them. But one thing was Sahana sure, Aahan had made a place for him in her heart and she couldn't do anything about it.

Soon Sahana’s destination arrived, after she hired a cab to her office.
