Unforgettable past

Ethan

The meeting ended without me knowing what exactly was discussed. I was just overwhelmed by the beauty of my future wife. My eyes no longer took off from her. I can't believe she's gonna be my wife. I'm sure she doesn't even remember meeting me at the mall anymore, I was such an idiot. She was also not very interested in what was happening during the reunion between our families. She kept her head down throughout the seat, except at some point that she must have felt the weight of my gaze on her. She lifted her head and gave me a look that unsettled me. It sounded like she was mad at me. I am now certain that she was not consenting to this marriage, just like me. The meeting ended without my future wife and I having to speak to each other. In the car, I hear my father tell me

"I hope you're ready for the date chosen for your wedding?! As soon as we get back, your mother will take care of contacting our organizer of the solemn ceremonies and we will move quickly in the preparations for the wedding."

I didn't even know what my dad was talking about. What date did they set? He looks at me when I'm not up to date at all. In order not to trigger an avalanche of derogatory words towards me, I have to act as if I had really followed what they discussed during the meeting.

"Yes of course! Wedding preparations..." I stammered, staring into space.

"You and your fiancée remained calm without saying anything during the sitting. I hope this silence means that you're in agreement to get married?!" Replies my father.

My fiancee? I wondered to myself. I didn't know I had one. A fiancée with whom I hardly spoke, except just once and without knowing who she was. And the height, it was to ridicule me. I didn't respond to my father. As soon as we got home, I walked into my room right away. I wanted to be quiet, a question of thinking with a clear head. But that was without counting on the stubbornness of my little sister. No sooner have I flopped onto the bed than I hear the door to my room open. It's my sister who is there, surely to ask me about the families encounter.

"Knocking, does this word exist in your dictionary at least? You could have found me naked there." I tell her pretending to be annoyed.

"Anyway, I won't see anything that I haven't already seen." Tania said looking totally free.

She comes to sit next to me on the bed.

"You're lost!" I exclaimed hitting her with the pillow on the head.

"Yeah! And you're the one who is found right", she retorted, playing seriously.

I look overwhelmed at my sister, then we burst out laughing. Tania then asks me

"So the groom to the teeth, how did you find your sweetheart?"

"I'm not telling you, it's the same girl from the mall." I replied, raising my head, then leaning on my elbow.

The look Tania gives me betrays the surprise that can easily be read there. She exclaims

"No, you're kidding me!"

"If I tell you!"

"And how did it go between you? I mean, she at least recognized you, you got to know each other..." Tania inquired excitedly.

"No, my dear. She barely laid eyes on me from the whole meeting. And you first had to read in her eyes the hatred she had for me."

"Whoops! So, what are you going to do now?"

"No idea ! Our parents are determined to marry us against our will, I don't think we can escape it. And the stakes are high for my interests." I answered glaring at the void.

"But it suits you, doesn't it? I mean, this girl caught your eye the first time you met. Not to mention that you wanted to see her at all costs."

"It's true that she is extraordinarily beautiful, but that's not enough to make her my wife. I don't see myself being imprisoned in the bonds of marriage right now, even for her pretty little face. It will certainly be a marriage, but a marriage in which I intend to continue to live as a bachelor. I wanted to kick her out, not for her to be my wife. I'm not ready to live a marital life. And then, I also have Amy who means a lot to me. I have no intention of giving up on her. I tell my sister the haggard look.

"It's true, I had forgotten that one. What are you going to do now that you're getting married? She will surely oppose it." Tania outlines

"Not really."

I explained to my sister the reason why I want to do this wedding and she agrees. I think she is the only woman who can push me to enter into the bonds of marriage. If it were up to me, we'd be married already. But she says she's not ready. I reply to Clara.

"Still happy! It's obvious that she doesn't like you, except the money that interests her. " Tania exclaims satisfied.

Amy is my girlfriend. We met at university and got married right away. We have already had a relationship for five years, but she does not want to take the next step, which is marriage. If at first I was very committed and faithful, I became completely different when I discovered that she had cheated on me. Not once or twice, but three times according to him. Even though I forgave him each time, his crime changed me forever. I became a womanizer from this betrayal. Since then, I shoot anything that moves. When I told Amy of my father's intention to marry me to his competitor's daughter, she encouraged me to do so because this marriage would open doors for me in my father's business. Although I expected her to be a little jealous, I must admit that she is right. I believe Amy loves me, but she wants us to be financially secure first before she agrees to become my wife.
