Apologies

Paige watched him disappear among the crowds at the event, then she went in search of Frankie at the bar.

She found him seated, his eyes on her all the way as if in waiting.

"Hey." Frankie called, taking a seat for her.

"Hey, sorry for keeping you waiting."

"It's fine." He replied. "What would you like to take?"

"Something with less alcohol."

They were speaking about almost everything. And after a while, Frankie asks for her contact again. She took his cellphone and was about punching in the digits when they got interrupted by Simon.

"Miss. Paige, my mother needs you, right now. It's a kind of emergency." He said tapping her gently on the shoulder.

"Oh really." Paige asked worriedly.

Frankie and Simon glared at each other. A mix of anger and hate lingered in between stares. Yet none of them said any word to each other.

"Can we go?" He asked, turning to Paige.
