Chapter Eighty-nine: It's Rendall.

Montague swallowed hard as he opened Rendall's room door to see Rendall pacing up and down the room.

"R— Rendall."

Rendall turned to him sharply and Rendall gulped.

"What took you so long? Have you escorted her out of the wereworld safely? Where is she now? Do you know if she is in a safe place?"

"Well—" Montague's voice trailed off. He wondered how he would tell Rendall that she had made him sleep off and when he woke up, he could not find her. He had searched for her for hours but she was nowhere to be found.

"Well, what?" Rendall asked at the top of his voice. He took a deep breath. "I just want my Helia to be safe," Rendall added with a mellowed voice.

"I know and that is why it's hard to tell you this."

"Tell me what? Did anything bad happen to Helia?" Rendall asked with concern. He wondered why he still acted lovesick when it came to Helia. She had broken their mate bond by rejecting him. Why did her safety still matter to him?

"I don't really know?" Montague looked at his feet
