It was raining with reckless abandon when they finally regained consciousness. Their eyes slowly adjusted to the room and their brains did a quick flashback to remind them of where they were. Raisel tried to move but she realized she was in bounds, she looked and saw that Dragomir was also in bounds. Raisel looked at her in puzzlement. She leaned into her, “You are human…”, her scaly coarse fingers caressed her face, Raisel moved her away, her hands were coarse against her skin. She could see her scrawny ghost-like fingers up close, dirt from ages ago lodged in her hard and long nails, “What is it about you?”, her voice was hoarse with a slight hiss to it. Luckily for them, they were able to locate the inn in the small town. It was not too far away from where they were. They were all dressed by morning, they stood outside the inn. Raisel had dumped her pretty blue dress and opted for her signature leather ensemble. Dragomir had something similar on, he had let his hair loose. He had a bittersweet smile on his face, it pierced through her heart and her heart shattered like a China glass into many pieces. She spread her arms to receive him but he fell before she could get to him. The man who had swept her off her feet, the man who had taken her around the world, the man on whose side she had fought bravely, the man who had stolen her heart forever, the man she was madly in love with fell to the ground a blade to his chest, the charming smile that had captured her heart never leaving his face.
