62- The Dance

Karen arrived home with Kevin in a convoy. It was the first time they had ridden a car together. The atmosphere was really tensed that Karen was scared to even speak.

When she stepped out of the car, Mrs Kord approached her as the convoy stopped in front of the mansion. Guests were already arriving and piling their way into the mansion. Soft, romantic music filled the air. Looking around, Karen could not find Elliot or Selene.

"Karen," Mrs Kord placed a hand on her shoulder "I've been meaning to speak with you."

"Of course mother," Karen answered as she watched Kevin lean lazily on the body of his car, perhaps waiting for her. He looked hot with that lackadaisical look on his face and Karen had to struggle to concentrate her focus on Mrs Kord.

"Have you been able to..to speak with Kevin?" she asked, glancing at her son. Although she preferred Karen to Selene as a wife to her son, she knew the pain that Kevin was feeling. As a child, he was always around Selene. Mrs Kord knew long ago
