15 Millie

‘’Miss Millie, the paints are here.’’

I look over at the woman and frown. ‘’It is just Millie.’’

‘’Sorry.’’

I walk over to the paint cans to make sure that the colors are right and smile after seeing that they are.

I am not a bitch, but I did make it known to Asher that the only way I would accept the place he bought for me is if I can do the project on my own.

Gladly, he agreed and fired the guy, which I am glad for because that man wanted to take over things and do it his way without hearing my plans for a shop that will be my own.

There is only one thing, though. Asher hired an assistant for me. But I am thankful for the help because I know I couldn’t do all of this on my own.

I happily open the paint can and gush over the green and purple paints, along with the marshmallow white. I can see it now, these loud yet calm colors that will attract the eyes of those who come to simply buy baked goods but will stay to eat.

We begin to paint the walls that are by the front door. I p
