Chapter Fifteen

ADONIS

This morning was unsettling, to say the least. I woke up to find Sophia and Mark in my room, looking at me like I was some alien creature.

“What’s wrong with you two? Why do you look so terrified?” I yawned and sat up on my bed. “Did you walk into my room to stare at me with that creepy look on your-”

My mouth snapped short at the terrified look on Sophia's face. She wasn’t blinking and she looked harried and wild. My heart crumpled and I had a mounting suspicion that my wolf did something terrible last night.

“What happened?" I finally managed to ask, my voice croaking and my throat dry from the sudden onslaught of worry. I reached out my hand for her, but my fingers stopped inches away from her shoulder.

The fact that she didn't flinch or shake or run scared me even more. "Sophia?" I whispered. "Are you alright?”
