Helena sat on the cold, gray stone floor of the dank cell in Alexander's house. The bastard had locked her up for three days. She leaned against the wall, wondering when this madness would be over.

Her husband, Bruno, had proven himself to be nothing but a spineless coward, a fact that angered her to no end. But her concern for her niece, Iris, weighed heavily on her heart.
