Chapter 18 Can I call you Daddy?

Daisy POV

I was still foaming in anger, looking for the best way to ease the tension surrounding me when suddenly my eyes caught Janice. She was humming and running through the long hallway that leads to Asher's room. I paused on my track and reversed my direction to where she was going and, like I had thought, she stopped at Asher's room and knocked.

“Who's there?” A thick voice asked from the other side of the door.

“It's me, Uncle Asher.” Immediately, the door jerked open faster than expected, and I almost got caught peeping from the corner, but I was quick to hide myself.

After he ushered her in, and he closed the door behind them, I quickly went closer to the door and eavesdropped on their conversation. I wasn't scared of getting caught by others because I was sure no one would walk through this place without proper permission. In fact, everyone is afraid of him, and they're always cautious about coming here.
