Emily's POV
I grumbled as we waited patiently sitting on one of the chairs in the living room.
"Just hold on!" My mom scolded me. "He said he has something to show the pack. Be patient!"
"Great." I muttered. "Just when I thought this hell of a party was over."
My dad gave me a warning look and returned his gaze to the Alpha who waited patiently for something… unknown to everyone.
"Oh, it's here!" Dexter said aloud as we heard the door leading to the other sections of the mansion open.
Everyone's gaze was fixed on the passageway leading to the stairs, waiting in excitement to see what our Alpha had to present.
And when I was beginning to think that our Alpha's surprise was a flop, I saw the hugest scare of my life.
The whole hall fell into chaos as most people screamed and yelled in fear while others like myself stood speechless and motionless.
It was a man. A man whose reputation spoke for itself. It was the legendary Alpha Blade, known in Haven as The Ripper.
"Hello." He said as he waved at the horrified crowd, then his deadly gaze fell on our Alpha. "Hi Dex, I hope you're having a good party."
From the look on Dexter's face, I knew something really bad was going to happen. Dexter stood motionless as he stared viciously at The Ripper. "What are you doing here?" He finally found his voice to ask.
The Ripper smiled. "I know I was meant to remain locked up in my room like we had planned earlier but then I was also supposed to be given my elixir, wasn't I?"
Dexter's countenance changed and a look of guilt crossed his face.
"I know you all are confused." The Ripper said to the crowd. "But the truth is, your Alpha and I made a deal and he broke it. Now, there are going to be a few consequences."
Almost everyone in the room was trembling while others where too frightened to move an inch.
He walked down the long golden stairs slowly and confidently. With each step he took, my heart jumped.
As he came down the stairs successfully, he walked to Dexter and whispered into his ear, smiling widely.
Then, he withdrew from Dexter and passed through the crowd who had unconsciously made way for him to the door.
As he passed, I could see some ladies with teary eyes, holding their purses tightly, while men were posing the fiercest face they could afford.
After he had walked past where I stood, I shut my eyes and heaved in a sigh of relief. Then, my eyes opened themselves immediately I heard Sandra's scream.
The first thing I noticed was the excruciating pain in my leg as Sandra's painted nails clung into my leg as she held on tight to me with her eyes screaming terror.
Then my eyes followed hers' and immediately i wished I could have screamed like Sandra.
He had stopped at my front and was looking directly at me.
My heart jumped and then stopped beating entirely. At that point, I thought I was going to drop dead on the marble floor, but I didn't. Instead I looked into his cold intense dark eyes and In seconds, I was lost in them.
Even as I watched Dexter walk up to him, saying words in annoyance and then I watched the old maid run to the ripper, and fall on her knees, pleading, i still didn't move an inch.
The whole room began to whirl around and soon I lost awareness of time and place.
Then I was shook out of my reverie by my mother's hurtful slap which made my cheek grow sore.
She pulled me violently as she followed after my father out of the entrance door.
I could see Janet and Sandra running ahead of us and also the whole pack was running helter skelter into their vehicles and others who didn't have, took to their heels.
Despite the whole confusion, I managed to look back and from afar, I saw the Ripper holding Dexter by the throat.
And that was the last thing I saw as my mother pushed me into the limousine and ordered the driver to move as fast as he could.

TWO DAYS LATER
My mother had requested that I stayed indoors for a while to recover from that night's trauma, but instead of sleeping and resting, I had spent the past two days browsing and researching everything I could get on The Ripper.
According to what I had seen online, he had attended Haven's highschool and had gotten very high grades and had been the best student for three years. Although there were some records of truancy in his senior year, most teachers had still given good reviews of him.
He had later attended New-Yawk University, where he had studied law. He dropped out of school after two years and… that was it. No record again about Blade John Ferguson.
But for the Ripper, I saw a lot more, especially in Haven's news media.
All the news I saw were from six years ago, about the psychopath on loose who had allegedly shown cannibalism by sucking dry a human and had also been accused of burning down his home, killing his parents in the process.
From then, he had been termed The Dead Man on Loose by the humans in town but to the werewolves, we knew him as the Ripper.
I shut my laptop quickly as my room door opened. Luckily, it was Sandra and not my mum.
"Thank God you're awake." She said, as she hurried over to my bed after shutting the door.
"Is Janet at home?" I asked.
"No." She replied,
"What about mom and Dad?" I questioned further.
"They went over to the pack house for reasons I don't know nor care of." She replied, impatiently. "So, what new thing do we have on him?" She asked, excitedly.
"Well, I just found out that he had attended Haven High, and had gotten very high grades that year."
"Higher than Alpha Dexter?" Sandra asked.
"Well, Dexter's two years older than Blade, but Blade was three classes ahead of him. According to my researches, Blade got into NYU at age fifteen."
"Really! Is that even possible?" Sandra squealed in excitement, making me uncertain about who was more weird, Sandra or me.
"But he dropped out after two years." I said.
"Why?" She asked.
I shrugged my shoulder. "I guess to start his pack. I once overheard mother say that the evil Ripper was no longer Haven's business but New-Yawk's as he had started a deadly pack there."
"That's so cool." Sandra said, already in awe of him. "Dangerous but cool." She added.
She was right. Blade's history was somehow cool, except…
"Is that all?" She asked, snapping her fingers at my face. "Is that all you saw about him."
"Well… Nothing else." I said, unsure of why I wanted to keep the whole killing of parents thing out of the picture. "That's all I saw about Blade."
"Okay." She said, rising up from my bed. "Let me go to my room and daydream about the dangerous but cool Ripper. If you find something else, call me!"
As she was about leaving, I called her back.
"What? Did you remember something else?" She asked.
I swallowed in my spit, then shook my head as I thought against telling her about the murder. Somehow, I was more comfortable with her thinking Blade was cool. "His middle name's John." I said at last.
"Blade John Ferguson!" Sandra squealed in excitement as she shut my door and ran downstairs.
A broad smile appeared on my face as I went over the history of Blade or rather The Ripper. As I thought about him, my mind wondered back to the silhouette of a man I had seen at the fountain.
Had that been the Ripper?
"Cool and Dangerous indeed." I whispered to myself as I turned over to face the setting sun.
Dexter paced the wide hall, fuming in anger and occasionally throwing things around him away. His hands trembled with fury consuming him as he muttered curse words under his breath.Harrison Bugle, Dexter's beta and childhood best friend sat on a couch, whistling to the sound of his favorite country music, not bothered by his friend's troubled state.Dexter turned around to face Harrison. "Would you please stop that! It's both disturbing and annoying."Harrison stopped for a while then resumed. In annoyance, Dexter threw a pillow at him. "Just shut the hell up!""I would stop when you also stop pacing the hall, okay?" Harrison said, throwing the pillow back to Dexter. "Anyway, I don't even get why you're troubling yourself."Dexter's eyebrows raised as he stared at Harrison in surprise. "How can you say that? How can you say such when we are on the verge of losing everything we've worked for so many years?""How so?" Harrison asked casually."Oh my god!" Dexter said slamming his palm
Emily's POV I was reading 'Falling In Love With The Bad guy" when I heard Dad's car honking outside. Finally, the two old disturbances were back. Despite the coldness of the night, I heard Sandra scampering down the stairs, hurrying to meet Dad and Mum. That was something I really didn't understand —Why did my sisters love my parents so much? Don't get me wrong, I love my parents, mainly because everyone is meant to love their parents and also because they weren't abusive and they provided every thing I needed. I think that's enough reason to love one's parents. I closed the novel I was reading and quickly covered myself with my bedspread as I heard my mom's voice calling me from the stairs. "Emily!!!" She called out as she reached my door. As I had been expecting, she opened the door and waltzed in without even bothering to knock. "Emily?" I didn't respond. She sighed and then pulled the sheets above me. I yelped in shock. She frowned."
BLADE'S POV I've always loved the feeling of the warm morning sun on my skin. It always reminded me of the essence of life. All days but today, as the warm sun ignited my frail swollen skin, causing my skin to burn and sizzle under the mild sun. "You can't go out," protested Susan, who was pacing my room."You wouldn't make it through the gate." I took my reddened hands out of the sun and turned around to face the worried Susan. "I have to and you know it." I said, grabbing my biker's jacket from its hook and putting it on carefully on my swollen skin. "No, you don't. Dexter said he'll look for the moonlight elixir. Just be patient." "Patient?" I laughed. "You expect me to be patient in this condition? And you expect me to believe that f*cker?" "The one thing Dexter wants is for you to leave Haven and believe me, he knows the only way that's happening is if you get the elixir." I shook my head. "No! The one thing Dexter wants is to
EMILY POV I had to meet Mathilda. I really had to. Despite the freezing wind of the night, I was determined to see her. I managed to escape my house through the window of my room. Although, I had collapsed during my attempt to jump, attaining a some bruises on my elbow and ankle, I was still marching onwards to the south of town. After wandering the town for about an hour and half, I met Mathilda frolicking at a bar with men thrice her age. In spite of the wide grin on her face and the loudness of her ringing laughter, I could still sight the sadness engraved deeper in her hooded grey eyes. The moment her eyes caught mine, the forged happiness vanished and a grim expression surfaced. "Emily?" She said, walking away from her drunken acquaintances. "Hi!" I said, waving at her. She took me by the arm and led me out of the bar. When we were finally out and in the open, I decided to clear the air. "I just needed to see..." "What the hell are yo
BLADE She led me into the house which was considerably empty with little or no furniture and a two-seater couch in the large sitting room. "This place has changed." I said, shocked by the emptiness of the house. "Do you live here?" She didn't say a word but progressed further up the creaking stairs. "Why aren't you saying anything?" I asked, curiously as she led me into a dark room with red candles lit around. She shut the door and sat down on a mat. "Sit down." She said, pointing to a mat opposite her. Cautiously, I sat down with my eyes fixed on her the whole time. In between us was a bowl of water and a blunt knife wrapped in red clothing placed beside the bowl. "What is going on?" I asked as I hated being left in the dark most especially as my last time in the same house had been more than horrifying. "You want my help, don't you?" She asked causally. "Yes... but I don't see how any of this is going to help me." I said, a lit
Emily's POVI dropped the novel in my hand and squealed in excitement. I didn't know why but I always loved happy endings. Cuddling myself on my bed and replaying some of the major events in the book, I slowly began to see some similarities between myself and the female lead character. Although she was from a poor background and was a hundred times more hardworking than I, we had some things in common— firstly, she had a friend who was from a rich background and got all the attention —just like Janet—Secondly, her parents were controlling and overprotective, deciding what she'd become, who she'd end up marrying, what kind of clothes she'd wear—just like my parents. But could I actually follow her steps and get out of my depression? Could I possibly fall in love with a bad boy like she did, ignoring her parents warning and all that? I took a deep breath. It's been five days since my confrontation with Mathilda and ever since that night, she had refused to pick up my
BLADE FERGUSON The flames danced around, producing dazzling spectrums of light from the archaic fireplace in Camille's home. I was wrapped in a fluffy wool blanket, cuddling myself as I watched the fire with keen interest. The night was cold and the sounds of the forest night creatures created an eerie feeling. The couch beside me was occupied by the stubborn teenage girl that lived with Camille, called Maia. We had both played card games until she had fallen asleep. I tried to sleep but I couldn't as I was too scared to shut my eyes. I was scared to lose awareness of myself to Jordan. I didn't want to hurt anyone, I had killed and ruined a lot of lives already and the guilt was beginning to seep into me. I jerked in shock as I felt a hand on my shoulder. "It's just me," Camille said. Her hands were soft and gentle but for some unknown reason, I didn't want them on me. I shook her hands off my shoulder calmly. "You scared me."
EMILY'S POV "Where to?" I asked myself as I stood by the roadside, gripping the hands of my backpack anxiously. To my left was the goodbye signboard and to my right was... nothing but endless trees and an empty long road. I took in a deep breath and moved forward out of town. Normally, I wouldn't be so reckless but I was fed up with being locked up like a prisoner. I wanted to see things; to explore. After walking for about ten minutes, I began to see a few houses, most were farm buildings with noisy animals and cattle's grazing freely. The only day I had been at a farm was the day I was chosen by the Alpha, so my memories of farms weren't the best. Then, I heard a whistle from behind me and I turned around to see who it was. There were six of them under a shed; two boys and four girls. On the floor around them were empty bottles of alcohol and beer with a stale odour of cigars. The two guys looked between the age twenty
