Claire and Lisa’s incident spread like the Harmattan's wildfire. Everyone was asking questions as a result of the controversy it caused.

I was so enraged and disappointed that I could have snapped Claire's head off her feeble frame. I was aware that being a servant could become intolerable, especially under an uncaring master.

However, that was unquestionably evil—the type you can't justify—and it caused you to despise everyone and everything.

It all made sense: Lisa's persistent fear, perpetual vulnerability, and timid demeanour. She was experiencing the unimaginable, and if her upbringing was anything like this, she definitely needed someone to lean on.
