Chapter 11

Yvette's POV

After tasting it, Black downed the whole bowl of chowder, leaving me slack-jawed.

Then he signaled the maid, who immediately refilled his bowl with all the remaining chowder.

Black grabbed the spoon and continued to savor it. This time, his movements became much more elegant.

"Don't put carrots next time. I hate them!"

Even so, he still finished all the clams and veggies in it.

After that, he pushed the empty bowl forward, wiped his mouth with a napkin, and left without looking back.

Speechless, I covered my empty stomach and stared at the bowl.

Did he just have the whole pot of chowder? What was he, a glutton?

I had only taken a few sips. Poor me.

Fortunately, the maid served me the dishes they had cooked for Black. After forcing myself to take a few bites, I ran back to the room where I was temporarily staying.

Then I threw myself onto the bed and snuggled down under the covers.

To be honest, I didn't want to please Black. On the contrary, I hated his guts.
