As my question spilled from my lips, I sensed my heart pulsating in a sparkling rhythm. Richey now, I find myself somewhat regretting posing that question.

"Does that make me a busybody?" I pondered silently, debating whether to request Mara to not bother giving me an answer.

"Mm, Mara..." I barely began when Mara's voice sounded.

"Since I've been employed here, not once have I witnessed a woman staying overnight, let alone for more than two nights like you," she remarked.

"Oh," I uttered softly, a small gasp escaping me. "So you're implying women have entered this mansion, but none have stayed overnight?"

Mara offered a faint smile before confirming, "Yes, they have never been permitted to stay unless it was for business purposes."

Her words sparked a sense of joy within me, though I couldn't pinpoint the reason for such a reaction.
