Chapter 3

CHAPTER 3

“What did she mean by “darkness will fill the land, darkness from black fur with blue eyes. A great war will begin but only the moon goddess’s descendant can end the war for good with the help of the dark fur with blue eyes.” Maya asked for the tenth time after I and Nelson explained what Nirvina said.

“I don’t know,” I said with a frustrated groan.

“I don’t even know what to think anymore, are we not supposed to be moon goddess’s descendants because we have rare powers? Could that mean that the person that will end the war with you is in our pack? But then how could you harness darkness and still end the war. It is not even adding up.” Nelson said looking as frustrated as I am.

“I think we need to speak to your father since he is the one that gave you the prophecy, don’t you think he will probably know more?” Maya asked.

“I think that is what we should do, I’ll call him to ask if he is busy,” I said picking up my phone to call my father.

“I think she is referring to your mate,” my father said after serious thought.

“Why do you think so?” Nelson asked before I could.

“Well, when war starts the wolves that are mated are always the ones that go for war because they have more strength and they have fully unlocked their potentials, so if a descendant of the moon goddess will help you end the war, then it has to be your mate,” my father concluded.

“Okay, so all I have to do now is to find my mate.”

“I think I have a solution for that,” Maya said smiling.

“What do you mean?” I asked as we all faced her.

“I mean that we can host a party in our pack to see if you would meet your mate. The condition will be that all pack members have to be present to celebrate the success of the pack and it is an order,” Maya said.

“But what if his mate is not in this pack?” Nelson asked.

“Then we will throw a ball inviting every pack,” Maya said while twirling and smiling.

“Yeah, that is a good plan let’s do it.”

“Are you ready to search for your bride?” Nelson said as he opened the door.

“I guess I am,” I said feeling nervous.

“What if I don’t find her?”

“You’ll find her and if you don’t, we will keep searching until you find her,” Nelson reassured me.

“Today the alpha has decided to have dance with every girl that wants to dance with him,” Nelson said to the crowd at the party and received a lot cheers.

“Is that all of them?” I asked.

“Yes, Alpha,” one of the pack workers said.

“I have danced with every girl?” I asked again to be sure.

“Yes, Alex turns out you have danced with every girl that is of age to find her mate, it will be inappropriate to dance with younger girls.” Maya replied.

“I understand,” I said disappointedly.

“I guess we will have to plan another ball to celebrate the success of your pack,” Maya said with a shrug.

“Okay then,” I replied absent mindedly

Could it me my mate hasn’t turned twenty-one? I questioned myself.

Wolves can only recognize their mates when they turn twenty-one. So, it is possible that she is at home because she hasn’t turned twenty-one. But the odds of that happening is next to none, there is no way the moon goddess will play tricks like that and give me a mate that I am older than with over ten years. Hopefully I’ll meet my mate at the ball.

“Alex, I have sent out invitations, and I told every alpha that it is necessary that all the unmated girls in their packs show up. This will be good as even the unmated people in our packs can find their mates.” Nelson said

“I don’t really care about people finding their mates, they don’t have a prophecy hanging over their heads,” I said agitated as I walked out of my office and slammed the door.

“Alpha guests are arriving already, you can come out to welcome the alpha and luna of various packs,” one of the pack workers said.

“Alright, I’ll soon be there.” I replied.

I welcomed all the alpha and luna with their unmated daughters and I was still yet to see my mate, I even started welcoming random guests to see if I’ll find my mate.

The ball is over and I didn’t even manage to catch a glimpse of my mate but somehow Nelson and Maya found their mates. I know I am supposed to be happy for them because they are my best-friends but I can help but feel angry and a little bit of jealousy.

“Moon goddess, I asked for one thing! Just one thing! And you couldn’t give it to me,” I slurred as I kept on drinking my bottle of whiskey and thrashing my office.

Why the fuck will Nirvina even tell me about the prophecy if she won’t tell me how to find my mate?

“Nirvina! Nirvina! You little witch fucking come out I have questions for you,” I shouted still holding on to my bottle of whiskey.

“What! Alpha Alexander stop summoning me what do you want?” Nirvina asked.

“I want to find my mate,” I answered while Nirvina laughed

“You can’t find her, you won’t find her, she will come to you. You have to be patient. Normally I’ll charge you to tell you this kind of things but, I am in the middle of something and I don’t need you to keep summoning me plus I feel pity for you.”

“Is there no way I can trace her,” I said feeling hopeless.

“Well, you welcomed all the pack leaders, is there any pack leader that made you feel warm like they are related to you and you’ve known them for a long time?” Nirvina said while looking around my office.

“Maybe, I don’t know, why?”

“That could be the key,” she said then she vanished.

“Argghh! Why does every visit from Nirvina always manage to leave me more confused that before,” were the last words I managed to say before I passed out.
