"Mamma," Soleil looked at me with her tilted head and ran towards me. I crouched on my knee, opening my arms to hug the little princess with beautiful long blonde hair and blue eyes.

Breaking the hug, I kissed her cheek, cupping her tiny face. She had only Massimo’s scent. It looked like he did the same thing that I did with André. "Happy birthday, sweetheart," I said, and I found her smiling, but her eyes were somewhere else.

"Say ‘thank you’ to Mamma, Princess," Massimo said, but Soleil just smiled.

"It’s okay. She can kiss my cheek to say thank you," I said to check her understanding. And in the next moment, she kissed my cheek.

"That doesn’t mean she can go around kissing everyone instead of thanking him," Massimo commented with a frown.
