Chapter 13 | Danger

Kaden stalks towards me and says in a low voice, “You will stay quiet if you know what’s good for you.”

My eyes flicker between his face and the belt in his hands. I don’t know whether to run or scream or what. My mind is running with a thousand different scenarios of what I could do, but my body doesn’t move.

Why won’t my body move? Doesn’t it know how much danger that it’s in?!
