Chapter 8

Alpha Baron pov

It’s been days now since I banished my supposed mate out of the pack and I can’t stop thinking about her, which is why I feel banishing her was really the best thing for me to do.

“Boss, are you listening to me?” My Beta called back my attention the moment he asked me the question. I snapped out of my thoughts and turned to look at him.

“What were you saying?” I asked him so that he can explain everything he already said earlier. From the way he was staring at me I could already tell that he was curious to know where my head was when he was talking to me.

“Boss I don’t think it’s okay for me to repeat everything I said, it’s better you take a break and clear your head.” I placed my hand on my forehead and sighed after hearing what my Beta said to me.

I felt it was a punishment from the moon goddess for rejecting her in the first place.

“Can I talk to you as a friend and not your Alpha?” I asked my Beta because I was in desperate need to talk to someone and explain what has been happening to me since I banished that disgusting Rogue.

“It’ll be an honor.” My Beta replied as he immediately sat on a chair. I was quiet for a while because I couldn’t think of a way to bring up the conversation.

“The girl that was banished… does she have any friend in the pack?” I carefully stared at his face after I sled the question and I could tell he was shocked to hear me ask such a question.

“She was a Rogue here, who would want to have a close relationship with her?” My Beta asked me, still curious to know why I’m suddenly asking about her.

“You’re right, they ruined this pack in the past, anyone associated with them should be killed instantly.” I announced with a serious look on my face, I was trying my best to convince my Beta that I was only asking the question so I can punish whoever chose to be friends with her.

“Is that why you asked the question?”

“What other reason would make me ask?” I rounded up the conversation with such a sarcastic question and dismissed my Beta immediately. I had so much work to do and I need to put more energy into letting the Dragonmoon single princess before another Alpha makes the move first.

***********

After taking a short nap, I immediately got up from the bed because I was expecting a guest from the Crescent moon pack.

“Boss, your guest has arrived.” My Beta announced to me as I was dressing up, I stretched my hand trying to signal him to help me with my tie, he rushed towards me and helped me fix it well.

“Why is this so hard?” I muttered to myself while adjusting it properly.

“That’s one thing you never tried to learn.” My Beta said and laughed out loud, it was so embarrassing that I couldn’t find it funny, I glared at him and he immediately stopped laughing.

“Let’s go.” I ordered, and we both walked out of the room. When the Alpha of the Crescent moon pack sent his invitation to visit my pack, I was curious to know why because we’ve never had a close relationship and in the letter he didn’t state why he wanted to pay us a visit.

“I hope he’s here for the right reason.” I said in a whisper the moment I sighted him.

“Good day Baron.” I was taken aback at how informal he was on our first time meeting each other.

“Good day Leo.” I returned the same energy. “Was your journey here stressful?” I asked him as we both sat on the couch, my Beta left us to go get some refreshments.

“It was easier than I imagined.” I let out a soft smile upon hearing that.

“May I know the reason you decided to visit?” I asked him to go straight to the main conversation.

“You are very straightforward.” He replied to me and laughed out loud. I didn’t find it funny so I remained with my serious look patiently waiting to hear his reason. “It’s nothing serious.”

“I became an Alpha only one month ago and even missed your birthday party, so I thought it’d be wise of me to visit with some gifts.” I wasn’t expecting such a reason, I thought he was in my pack for political reasons.

I watched the maids take in the gift and I was impressed because he brought so much.

“I must say, that was very thoughtful of you.” I said to him with a smile on my face.

“I’m glad you like them.” He replied with a bright smile on his face. From the look on his face I could tell he became an Alpha at a very young age because of his father’s sudden death.

I noticed the dinning has been set so I invited him to have lunch with me before leaving.

“Is there a special feast going on?” Alpha Leo asked the moment he saw the food set on the dining table. I could immediately tell that he has a great sense of humor.

“It’s our best way to welcome you.” I replied to him as we dug into the food. There was an awkward silence between us as we were eating and judging from his facial expression I could tell he was finding it hard to ask a question.

“I heard you were mated to a Rogue.” I paused eating the moment I heard the question he asked me. Does it mean all pack Alpha are aware? Even the Dragon…

“How did you hear that?” I curiously asked.

“There’s no one who doesn’t know about it.” I squeezed the spoon in my hand angrily, I cannot believe this girl has caused me so much embarrassment, the moon goddess must really hate me.

I had to swallow the pain and pretend like it was nothing to me.

“She got banished for neglecting her father.”

“What? You banished her?” I was shocked to see his reaction. “Why did he react like that?”
