Chapter 11

My university years went passed so fast and before I knew it, my four years of theoretical studies were done.

Being back feels good. I really have missed this place and Joe. I took an earlier flight to surprise him.

The taxi stopped in front of the house, getting out I paid the driver through his window and took my luggage out of the trunk.

“Thanks,” I told the driver. He gave a nod and then drives off.

Walking up to the house I spotted a black Conor McGregor's BMW 730 M sports car in the driveway.

Stopping I first needed to admire this beauty “WOW, what a fine car.”

Walking inside I dropped my bags at the door wanting to greet Joe before I go unpack. Hearing conversation in the living room I went in that direction. Seeing Joe sitting on his chair.

“Surprise!” I said while opening my arms for a big hug. O the look on his face. A big smile spread across his face. He looked surprised to see me.

“Amore! What are you doing here, I thought your plane only lands tomorrow?” He quickly got up, walked toward me, and gives me the biggest hug.

“Yes, but I caught the earlier flight. I wanted to surprise you. I missed you so much.”

“I missed you too.” He stepped back, holding me at arm’s length looking me up and down. “I only saw you last month and look at you. Every time I see you, you just get prettier.”

“It’s thanks to you Joe now stop, you’re letting me blush.”

“Ahem” A sound came from behind me.

Oh gosh, I totally forgot Joe had company.

I turned to look at the visitor. Shocked. It can’t be. What’s he doing here? I thought I would never see him again. He is even more handsome than before. I didn’t know that was even possible.

Oh my goodness. I can see all those glorious muscles through his shirt. I think I’m overheating here. It should be illegal to dress in such tight clothes. It’s like the shirt will rip at any second… mmm, No Amore that’s just your dirty thinking. Stop drooling! I shook my head. Why does he have this effect on me? I’m starting my internship next month. I can’t have this type of distraction. Nope, nope! Pretend you don’t know him. Yes, that will be for the best. Technically, I don’t know him, AAHH! What am I doing, contemplating in my head again?

Joe looked at me with a frown. He knew I’m having my mini discussion in my head again. I can’t hide anything from him, even if won’t tell him anything he would already know what I’m thinking.

“This is Nathan,” Joe said.

“Hello, Mia … but now Amore,” Nathan said, tilting his head, and giving me a stern look.

“You two know each other?” Joe asked, looking back and forth at me and Nathan.

“Nope.” We met once. Giving Nathan a stern look.

“You just disappeared, where have you been?” He asked, almost looking angry.

“I think you have the wrong person. Nathan” I look at Joe.

“If you would excuse me, Joe I need to go unpack, I’m really tired from my flight.” Joe saw the uneasiness on my face and gave me a nod.

“We will talk later, go get some rest,” Joe said

Walking past Nathan, he grabbed my arm. I looked up into those captivating eyes.

Amore, get your shit together. What is wrong with you.

“What do you think you are doing? Take your hands off me!”

Nathan looked me straight in the eyes, wanting to say something but Joe interrupted him.

“Nathan, let her go. She will not run away. This is her home, you two can have a good talk after she’s rested.”

What, did he just say? I thought he would let Nathan leave as soon as I have gone upstairs. I don’t want to talk to Nathan. What will I tell him? I looked at Joe with pleading eyes. Please, please help me, Joe. Not knowing if I wanted to cry or laugh.

Joe smiles at me while he shakes his head.

Nathan gives me a sarcastic smile, moving those beautiful lips towards my ear. “I will be waiting for you Amore, have a good rest.”

Oh, I’m doomed. I thought to myself
