Chapter 170: Friendship

Bella’s POV

Our meet up location wasn’t too elaborate but I refrained from picking a restaurant that we visited in the past. For obvious reasons I didn’t want to worsen my mental health.

I thought I arrived early but Emily was already seated so I took my sit with heaviness. The corner we chose was closest to the window and I found Emily staring through the glass like a wounded lion vying to penetrate the mind of a human.

“Uhm mm” I cleared my throat to grab her attention and it worked. Immediately her eyes rested on me a broad smile formed on her lips but it seemed foreign in comparison to her previous joyful smiles. Her unparalleled joviality was no where to be seen. The look in her eyes was just a hollow vague cast of her past self.

There was an awkward silence in the air, none of us could ask the other how we were doing because these past few months have been a hell of a ride for us.
