Chapter 16

Ashely's POV

I was dragged towards the extreme end of the clinic and thrown into one of the rooms. The door was shut behind me, making me flinch.

What the heck, I thought I was summoned by Alpha Simpson. He can't possibly be here.

A putrid smell wafted into my nostrils and I wrung my nose. The air smelled complex but I wasn't in the shape to start analyzing the smell. The room was dark but thanks to my wolf eyes, I could see.

I struggled to my feet and my gaze settled on the single bed in the room. That was when I realized that I wasn't alone.

The hair on my body stood erect. With my gaze transfixed on the bed, I fell back to the floor. At a closer look, I realized that the person on the bed was motionless, he seemed to be a patient.

I tried to rise to my feet but I couldn't. Fear and weariness had taken the best of me. I tried hard until I was able to stand.
