Fifteen

ARABELLA.

Gently, I opened my eyes. The bright light seeped into my orbs and I shut them very quickly. It took some seconds for me to adjust to the bright light in the room. And then I sat up and took in my surroundings. I was in the hospital ward. Why was I here? The last I remembered was being served in the dining room. Speaking of food, my stomach grumbled, I hadn't eaten in a long while. I wonder how I was able to survive not eating for long. It should be because I was depressed. Hunger doesn't affect a depressed person. I slowly sat up because I felt pain in my belly, it wasn't much but it was there. Just then, a woman dressed in jeans and a blue shirt walked in. She had an overall white jacket that indicated that she was a doctor.

“You are awake,” she said.

“Yes,” I answered.

“Why am I here?” I asked.

“You are here because you fainted from exhaustion. We also found out that you are three months pregnant not with one baby but with three,” She explained.
