Chapter 12

Romeo POV

Looking out of the window, I stare as the car passes by the tall buildings straining to touch the sky, tall and oppressive. After talking to Dr. Lorenzo, I came to the realization that all the things I thought could be possible to heal me were utterly nonsense. I just found that girl beautiful. It was a desire, a sexual attraction that I felt toward her. And remembering last night, I’m sure I had sedated that desire too.

I was so desperate for a remedy that now I’m starting to make up some shit. My head begins to throb, causing me to grimace in discomfort. Taking out my medicine from my coat and picking up a bottle that was in the car, I gulped down the medicine in one go.

As the medicine started to do its work, it calmed my overrunning thoughts. I sighed, slouching against the black leather seat, opening the button of my fitting coat, and closing my eyes. It’s not like I want to complain that I don’t want to be head of the Valentino family. Or I don’t want to rule over ten
