Chapter 5: Wedding Day

Alyssa's POV

I walked down the aisle with my father, the guests rose to their feet as their gaze fixed on me. I looked down immediately, the scene was overwhelming.

"Raise your head," my father said beside me but I didn't answer him. I felt like hissing loudly.

"Alyssa, raise your head," he said through his gritted teeth but I still refused to obey him.

He stylishly used his index finger to raise my head, to which I turned away from.

His grip around my wrist tightened, "I promise to scream, if you don't loosen up your grip, Dad," I threatened as I raised my head a little.

"Look at your groom," he said beside me as his grip loosened a bit. It just crossed my mind to look at that rascal.

I can't believe he could even flirt with me openly even with the predicament we were in. He seems to know I was the one coming because he wasn't as shocked as I was the other day.

It made me wonder if he approached me intentionally or not. But, I will go with the latter, the way he spoke shows he wasn't interested in this marriage as well.

"You are in a daze, Alyssa. Smile to the guests," I heard my father's voice again, he can really be talkative at times.

As we got to the altar, Lucas winked at me as he took my hands from my father. My father nodded at him and patted his shoulder before he walked away. Now, I was left with this pervert.

He passed me a mischievous grin, and I forcefully yanked my hands away from his.

The priest looked shocked but I flashed him a reassuring smile.

We exchanged our vows, "By the power bestowed upon me. I now pronounce you as husband and wife," the priest said, earning a roar of applause from the guests.

The priest continued, "You may kiss your bride," I glared at the moron, who was grinning as if he had won a lottery.

Before I understood what was going on, he had pulled me to him and smooched his lips on mine.

'This bast@rd just took my first kiss away from me!' I screamed in my head.

Not caring about the prying eyes looking at us, I pushed him away instantly. I swear that I held myself so hard from not slapping him, he was so disrespectful.

He gave an awkward chuckle and said, "My bride is a bit shy," I didn't change the glare on my face but guests and the priest seemed to believe his words.

Our sitting area was designed to be both elegant and intimate. It was set up on a raised platform, with a soft, white rug covering the floor.

The backdrop was a sheer white curtain, giving the area a dreamy, romantic feel. Two plush armchairs were set in the center, with a small table between them, adorned with flowers and candles.

I sank into the armchair and threw my head backward, the gown was heavy and very uncomfortable.

"What was that about?" I heard a voice.

I opened my eyes weakly and turned to see the furious Lucas.

'Just ignore him,' I said to myself and turned my face away from him.

"I am talking…" he was interrupted by another voice.

"My dear," I looked up and saw an old granny walking towards me. I sat upright and flashed her a warming smile.

"You look stunning, princess," she complimented.

'Oops! That got me off guard,’

I felt a blush crept on my cheeks as she posed beside me and we took pictures together.

She introduced herself to be Lucas Grandmother. We took pictures with her, and all other family members.

Soon, it was cake cutting time. We stood in front of a well decorated cake, Lucas placed his hand on mine to which I didn't bother hiding my displeasure, and pulled away.

Out of instinct, I felt a glare on me and I found it to come from my Dad. I reluctantly allowed him to grasp his hand on mine.

We cut the cake and I fed it to my Mum, Ivy and myself. His father was smiling at me lovely, he seems to have noticed my stubbornness, I felt a bit remorseful and smiled at him.

"Dear," a voice called, it belonged to his Grandmother and I turned and smiled at her.

"You see, I know this is out of your will, but I promise everything will be alright," she assured in a lower tone.

'Only if you cancel the wedding,’ I faked a smile at her, then she waved her hands to gain the attention of everyone.

She began, "I have a gift for the newlyweds," she said and that piqued my interest.

“I have planned a wonderful honeymoon for you two," she gushed, her eyes sparkling with joy.

"You will love the resort I have booked for you, so romantic and luxurious," her eyes crinkled as she giggled.

"Really?" All eyes turned to Ivy, who immediately asked when Grandmother was done.

She suddenly felt awkward and came to my side, "Babe, your in-laws are very nice. Won't you say thank you to her?" She asked, trying to dissolve the atmosphere.

"You won't be the one to remind her," Grandmother said, not liking her interruption.

I chuckled to clear off the tension, but my mind was far from the talks.

'Honeymoon,’ I haven't even thought of that. Her voice brought me out of my thoughts.

"Also, I have other gifts for the couple. A well furnished mansion is waiting for you two after your honeymoon," she beamed.

"Thanks Granny," Lucas said beside me as I gazed at him.

'I am going to be alone with this pervert,’ I thought as I let my imagination go wild.

I averted my gaze from him and subconsciously grabbed my gown. I gazed around for my Mum and I found her smiling at me.

I gripped the edge of my gown and walked closer to her, “Mum, she said honey.."

She interrupted me, "Sweetie, it's gonna be fine," she assured, looking so sure about it.

I bursted into tears and she hugged me to herself. I don't know what the future holds but I knew I won't see my Mum everyday as before.

The ceremony proceeded with grace and celebration. We got into the car, and I waved at my Mum and Ivy.
