Chapter 52

Becky

I sat still on the bed watching Clark get dressed for work. My eyeballs were refusing to stop staring at him because I wanted to get his attention. When he turned back and saw me, he came closer to me.

I was still worried about last night and what I had heard Clark say. I just couldn't stop myself from thinking about it.

He leaned close to me and pecked me lightly on my cheek.

"I won't be coming home tonight baby.. don't wait up."

This suddenly made me curious and insecured.

"Why? Do you really have to keep working late?" I questioned.

He smiled and then sat beside me on the bed.

"A lot of investors will be flooding in today Becky. That's enough reason for me to stay back at the office and sort it all out."

Before I could reply Clark, my phone started ringing. I picked it up on the bed and checked out the number.

It was an unknown caller. I raised my head to stare at Clark, but he also had the same confused look with me.

"You should hear what the person has to say." Clark advis
