CHAPTER SEVENTY

Their food finally arrived, Ruby was glad to finally have a source of distraction from all Robert has been saying. She swallowed a mouthful of the food and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. She was very much hungry because she left the house in a hurry and therefore missed breakfast. She found herself having a great time devouring the meal, complimenting both the food, the chef and Robert about the choice of restaurants. Robert smiled, happy with the fact that she was enjoying herself.

Once they finished their meal, Robert leaned in to continue their conversation, but Ruby cut him short with a polite excuse. "I’m so sorry, Robert, I wish I can stay longer and chat,” she told a little lie “but it's the middle of a very busy day for me. I have to run," she said, already rising from her seat, ready to leave “Thanks for lunch I really enjoyed it”

Before Robert could object or say anything further, Ruby was already out of the door, leaving him alone at the table
