Elena let out a shaky breath as Alex arrived at the compound of his father's home. She couldn't believe how nervous she felt or why she felt nervous at all when she never did anything wrong.

When Alex told her about his parents wanting to meet her and their grandkids, she knew she couldn't say no. Just looking at the mansion brought out so many memories, and made her remember how lovely Alex's parents are and how terrible they could be, especially his father after knowing what they think she did.

She jumped as she felt a hand on her lap, and she looked at him.

"Are you alright?"

Elena nodded. "Yeah."

He shook his head, looking away, and opened the car door. "Don't know if I miss you always blanking into space."

She furrowed her brows. "What?"

He gave her a smile before leaving and slamming the door shut.
