Daniel knew it would be useless since he already had an argument with Hilda earlier. "Carmen, since she said she is okay, let's go and have it alone."

With that he held Carmen's hand, turned around and strode out.

Since Carmen had already achieved what she wanted, she stopped at the doorway, turned back and smiled as triumph flashed through her eyes before walking away.
