I downed the last of my drink and placed the wine glass on the coffee table. I was tempted to get more wine but I pushed against the urge. I walked to my desk and sat behind it in the chair. Bradley and my former boss were standing with serious expressions on their faces. Signing this woman means a whole lot to me and to Powerhouse Designs.” He glanced at my boss.“Yes. As you know, Lisa, Bradley has turned over multiple projects to our company thanks to you. This is a huge win for us, for you, and for Mr. Specter because we are going to do a fantastic job. But a few of the projects were halted due to insufficient funds.” I listened

A few hours later, I was able to do all the work that I needed to do for the day. Bradley made sure that I got three cans of the blood drink and I made sure to down two. I was packed and felt good. Not just because I fed, but also because I had had a productive day.Evening hours were rushing and the yellow and golden brilliance from the setting sun shone in my corner office. The floor-to-ceiling windows made it even more surreal. It was like I was in a movie. It was beautiful.The city’s skyline looked breathtaking and the view plus the stunning sunset seemed to reward me for all the office work that I did today. I smiled happily and took out my phone from my handbag. I dialed a familiar number and in three rings, the person answered. “Lisa! Baby, is everything alright? You just visited me yesterday, I did not expect a call from you until tomorrow.” She chuckled, and I could not help but smile warmly as if she could see me. It was my granny. I was sure that it was my Uber. The app on my phone showed the car’s location; that it was right in front of me. I opened the door of the car and I got into the back. It was the next morning and I was still in bed. Even though I went to bed early, I still felt tired. The rays of the sun were beaming through my curtains, creating shadows on the wall.
