Andrew came out of the bathroom in his bathrobe, drying his hair with a towel. He threw the towel over his shoulder and picked up his phone from the desk.
He saw that he had ten missed calls from Clara and six messages from her.
He opened the texts.
‘Hey, Andrew thanks for the food. Why did you leave though?’
'You bought so much for me. How am I supposed to eat it alone?’
‘Andrew are you busy?’
‘Did you eat?’
'Andrew?’
'Call me when you see my messages.’
He put it back on the desk and laid on his bed.
“Why do you even texted me? Text your man.” He said feeling annoyed.
Then he suddenly sat up straight realizing something.
“Wait. I am her man. She’s my fiancé.”
“But she has her eye on someone else.”
“No, no, no. Even if we are engaged because of a contract she is still my woman. I
Andrew cried for a while and when he was done crying he went to the bathroom. He didn’t notice that Clara had also quietly cried with him because he couldn’t look her in the eye. She wiped her tears away when he left and tried to calm herself down. Her heart was sad for Andrew. He had suffered so much pain and had been suppressing his feelings for a long time. She couldn’t imagine how much pain he was in. She took her phone and called Leo. “Hey. What’s up? Do you need something?” he asked picking up. “Leo can you do me a favor?” she asked. “Anything. Just say it.” He told her. She told him what she was planning. “Okay. But why so suddenly?” he asked. “No questions. Will you do it?” she asked. “Sure it’s not something hard. Jasmin will be very happy to hear this.” “If you need anything just tell Angel and thanks, Leo.” “No worries Clay.” He said. She hung up. A few minutes later An
The next two days neither of them called each other. They both felt uneasy and didn’t know what to say if they even called. It was the third day when Andrew finally found an excuse for calling her. Brandon gave him a speeding ticket. “I forgot to give it to you.” He told him. He looked and the ticket confused. “But I was in court that day.” He told him. “Miss Rose drove it.” Andrew nodded and waved his hand dismissing him. He smiled cunningly and took a picture of it with his phone and sent it to her. ‘You got me a ticket.’ He texted her. ‘I speeded to save you, you ungrateful man.' She texted him back with an annoyed emoji. Andrew smiled. 'Me? Ungrateful?' She sent him a picture of her with the bandages around her head. ‘I got hurt because of you.’ She texted him. He called her. “You ran after danger yourself.” He told her as soon as she picked up.
Clara came back in with Andrew and everyone pretended that they didn't see what they just saw. Camellia walked up to Andrew and looked at him with her arms crossed like she was upset with him. “What?” he asked looking at the seven-year-old. “Do you like my aunt?” she asked. “Now Cam, don’t disturb our guest.” Jasmin said holding her daughter. “I don’t like him, mom.” Camellia said. “Camellia! That is a very bad thing to say” Jasmin reprimanded. “It’s okay Mrs. Rose.” Andrew said. “I’m truly sorry Andrew. We spoiled her too much. And call me Jasmin.” She said with a smile. “Hey, Coco you got two packages. I’ve put them in your room.” Leo told her. “Who was it from?” Clara asked. “Don’t know. It didn’t have a return address.” She nodded. “Come on I’ll give you the tour of my house.” She said. He nodded and walked with her upstairs. She took him to her room first so s
The next morning Clara woke up and found herself in her bed nicely tugged in. She thought that Leo was the one who carried her to bed. She got up and went to the bathroom to freshen up and change, then she went downstairs. She saw everyone was having breakfast. “Good morning, Aunt Clay.” Camellia said rushing towards her and gave her a hug. “Good morning, Cam.” She said and patted her head. 'She looks much happier now that Andrew’s not here.’ She said to herself and smiled as she sat down on the chair. “Did you have a good night's sleep princess?” Leo asked with a teasing tone. “Yes. Why?” she asked a little irritated. “Nothing.” He said with a smile. It didn't felt like nothing to her. Jasmin gave her toast and eggs with coffee for breakfast. “So when did Andrew leave?” she asked casually as she sipped her coffee. “Oh, he left after putting you to bed.” Angelina told her. She choked on her coffe
The car was almost about to hit her when she was suddenly pushed away by someone. They both fell to the ground. The car quickly speeded away and disappeared. “Are you okay?” the person asked. She looked around and saw that it was Drake who had just saved her. She nodded at him. He helped her up and examined her closely. “Did you get hurt?” he asked her with a worried look. “No, I’m fine. Thank you, Drake.” “Your welcome. It would’ve been a terrible accident if I didn’t save you.” He said looking relieved. “I checked before I crossed the street but that car came out of nowhere. My mind went blank when I saw that car coming towards me.” She explained. “You don’t have to explain to me. Some people drive like crazy. That idiot must’ve been drunk.” "What about you are you hurt?" She asked. "No, I'm fine. Thanks for asking. You here with Andrew?" He asked. "How did you know?" She asked
Clara's eyes closed tightly, involuntary at the loud bang. She waited for the bullet to take her life but it never came. She opened her eyes to see what had happened and the next thing surprised her. The bullet never went through the window but instead, it had left a really small dent on the window of the car. The man quickly tried to open the door but Andrew was faster. He locked all the doors with the press of a button. He started the car and drove it in the backward direction as fast as he could. The man started to empty all the bullets at them but luckily all the bullets repelled the car. Andrew pushed the accelerator and drove away with speed. Clara was so shocked but she managed to recover quickly and wore her seat belts. “Thank God the car was bulletproof.” Clara said in a low voice. Andrew had slowed down a little when they were far enough but he didn’t stop. “Where are we going?” she asked him. “To the police s
The next morning Angelina woke up with a headache. She groaned as she tried to get up. She stopped realizing that someone was holding her. She looked at the arm around her in shock, then she looked up and saw Brandon who was sleeping peacefully. She yelled, freaking out about what had happened. “What? What? What happened?” he said in surprise, waking up from his sleep. He looked at Angelina who was looking at him with fear and shock. Brandon hit himself on the head when he realized what the situation was. ••• Clara was trying to call Angelina when she got a call from the company that neither she nor her secretary was there to handle the things. She got frustrated and worried about her at the same time. She changed into office wear and call her driver. She kept calling her on the way to work but she never picked up. “I am going to kill that woman.” She said under her breath. She went to her office
He was still fast asleep when his phone rang. He got up tiredly and answered his phone. There was a piece of paper stuck on his face. “Hello. This is Andrew Bloom speaking.” He answered in a sleepy tone, without looking at the caller ID. “Were you sleeping?” Clara asked. He looked at the caller ID with a frown and then answered her. “Yes. I was going to rest my eyes but I ended up falling asleep.” “If it was one of your employees I bet you would’ve given them an earful.” She said. Andrew rolled his eyes. “Haha, very funny.” He said sarcastically. “I wasn’t joking but I’m glad you found it funny.” He shook his head a little and realized that something was stuck on his face. “What are you doing?” he asked taking the piece of paper off. “I just got off work and am heading home. What about you are you still at your office?” He looked at the time and realized that it was way past working time.
