Chapter 13

The following days passed, uneventful. His words still lingered deep in my mind. Leaving a bitter heartache.

I have to admit though, I cared and I thought he did too. But he made it crystal clear that day.

I do my morning routine, take care of Tim’s needs and then leave for the office. I reach there is some time. It’s desolate, as usual. I wonder why Noah makes me come to the office so early in the morning.

I reach the office gate to see the new guards, the previous ones were 5 minutes late. They got fired on the spot, and one of them even forgot to save Noah’s parking spot, specially designated for him. Let’s just say, I don’t want to describe the incident.

I’m just glad it wasn’t me because if it was, I would have peed in my pants. He went ballistic, the poor guard was scared too. But luckily, he only lost his job.
