The Words

Ariana's words hit Mateo like a ton of bricks, leaving him shocked and unable to comprehend what he had just heard. He never expected such a statement from her, nor did he anticipate that she would accept him once but then neither did he thought she would reject him in such a manner. It was overwhelming, and he struggled to process his emotions.

"I want to keep the baby for myself!!" Ariana declared firmly.

Mateo's eyes widened in disbelief as he searched for the right words to respond. "What? Ariana, I... I wasn't expecting this," he stammered, his voice filled with shock.

Ariana's tone remained resolute, her decision unyielding. "I know I am being selfish right now, but I don't want anything to do with a man. I've had my own share of men, and they aren't worth it at all," she explained, her voice tinged with bitterness. "I'm sorry if I'm acting rude and harsh, but what I need right now is the baby, not a man. I want this child for myself alone."

Mateo felt a wave of desperation wash
