Kendall’s POV

After all the fun, Margaret and I arrived at the address my mother and sister were supposed to be, and a sense of anticipation filled the air. But as we reached out to knock on the door, I realized it was locked, a heavy bolt preventing us from entering.

We exchanged puzzled glances, unsure of what to do next. Margaret suggested waiting for a while, hoping that my mother or sister would return soon. So, we settled onto the nearby bench, the bags of treasures we had purchased resting at our feet.
