There were no words to quantify how angry I felt. The fury in my stomach fitted into tiny coils and stopped my wind. Raven shifted uncomfortably looking at me through her long lashes while the asshat, William, stood smugly with a thrust-out chest and an arrogant look.

Raven's announcement shattered all my hopes. It was like a punch to the gut. I broke into a sweat and had a devilish urge to choke William's throat.
