CHAPTER 17

*KINCAID'S P.O.V*

HIS HEART MELTED as he watched Adrienne break down and sob into a tree. From what he could see from behind the shrubs where he hid, there were a couple of rogue corpses on the floor. He wondered if she had done it, but no, he could perceive the faint scent of another wolf. He growled quietly as a protective surge filled his body. 

Just as he was about to come out of his hiding place, he saw his father walk out and approached Adrienne. 

"What are they talking about?" He asked himself. The wind dispersed their voices, he could not listen in. He saw his father sit beside her as they conversed. 

"Does that mean she and my father are becoming best buddies?" He snarled, still trying not to make a noise. He sniffed the air again, the scent he had perceived before was quickly dissipating because of the breeze. But he hadn't recognized it.
