My Bride

Augustus phone kept ringing but he did not answer the call. Luca came to the office and told Augustus to answer the call. “Throw it away,” Augustus said when the landline started ringing. Luca noticed that Augustus’s mood was badly ruined in the morning. Still he tried to calm him down.

“Sir, your father might get angry at you later. So, please answer the call,” Luca humbly said.

“Did you find everything about Eliana?” Augustus asked as he opened his eyes and straightened his back on the swivel chair.

“Yes, sir. Please answer the phone first and then you can go through this,” Luca suggested to Augustus. Luca was like an elder brother to Augustus whom he listened to even if he was in terrible mood. He picked up the mobile from the desk and answered the call.

“Come home right away. If you won’t then you will lose the rights over the company in next one hour,” Frederico said from the other side of the phone and cut the call.

Luca saw the menacing expression on Augustus’s face. “What happened, sir?” Luca asked politely.

“He is calling me home,” Augustus said and stood up from the chair. “I am leaving. Send me the details about Eliana on my email,” Augustus stated and left from there. As Augustus stepped out of the lift at the ground floor, he went straight to his car. The driver there was waiting for him there but Augustus took the keys from him and drove straight to his home.

Augustus drove so fast that he reached home in half an hour. He stepped out of the car and went inside the bungalow. As he stepped into the living room, he saw Gia and his parents there. Averting his gaze from them, Augustus looked at his father who had a deadly expression on his face.

“Have a seat,” Frederico told Augustus who did so and sat down on the couch.

“You are marrying Miss Gia tomorrow in a private ceremony,” Frederico announced.

“I am not marrying her,” Augustus plainly refused and then looked at Gia. “I broke the engagement and you came crying here. I do not love you,” Augustus repeated his words.

“Augustus, how can you be so harsh on our daughter?” Gia’s mother, Susana Toscano scolded Augustus.

“Because you all are forcing me to marry her. I do not love her. The engagement was against my wish. The only reason I agreed to engage to her was the company,” Augustus pronounced.

Carlo Toscano, Gia’s father looked at Frederico in exasperation. “Your son played dirty with us. Frederico, I did not expect him to treat my daughter like this. She loves him so dearly that she asked me to support your son for the position of CEO!”

“Carlo, Augustus will marry Gia. Tomorrow they will get married in a private ceremony else he will not be the CEO of the Sapphire Groups. I knew that he would act this way in the future that’s why I did not transfer the ownership completely to him,” Frederico gave his words to Carlo.

Augustus looked at them in disbelief. “Gia, I do not love you. Don’t you think we will ever be happy with this kind of marriage? Step back from this marriage,” Augustus asserted. Carlo and Susana looked at each other.

“We are stepping from this. We don’t want Augustus to marry Gia,” Carlo announced his decision. Augustus got happy upon hearing that when Gia said, “Mom-dad, I want to marry him only. That’s my final decision. Love also happens after marriage. Augustus, let’s get married tomorrow,” Gia proclaimed.

Augustus clenched his fist. “I love someone else and I am romantically involved with her,” Augustus pronounced in front of everyone. “Today she and I are going to get married,” he further stated.

The all looked at him in bewilderment. “What are you talking about?” Carlo asked.

“I am getting married to the woman whom I love,” Augustus stated and then looked at his father. “You have already seen my bride who will be my wife in a few hours. And you cannot dismiss me from the position of the CEO because the shares will gall drastically which will impact your partnership with Mr. Toscano. I hope you all have gotten your answers. See you later then,” Augustus stood up from the couch when Gia stopped him.

“Mom-dad, uncle-aunt, he is lying. That woman is a petty waitress in a bar. He is trying to manipulate you all to stop this marriage,” Gia blurted out and went to Augustus. She grabbed his collars and said, “Stop all this! You do not love her. It is just you want to run away from all of this. I will destroy your reputation if you won’t marry me.”

Augustus could not expect less from Gia. She was actually threatening him but Augustus had to escape all this. He grasped the hands of Gia and let her hands go of his collars. “Do that then because I do not want to ruin our lives by getting married,” Augustus proclaimed and walked out from there.

Frederico gulped the anger that had built inside him. He apologized to Carlo for his son’s wrong behavior.

Gia started crying in front of them. “Uncle, you promised me that he will marry me but see what he did. He rejected my feelings and lied to all of you,” Gia stated. Susana went to her and told her to go home with her. Josefina too went to her to console Gia.

“Just because we are fast friends, I cannot say anything to you but it does not mean that I will forgive you and your son that easily. Your son played with the feelings of my daughter just to acquire the rights over the company. I cannot even stay here for a second. Let’s go,” Carlo stood up from the couch.

Gia was insisting not to go from there when Carlo caught her arm and dragged her out from there. “You will not marry a man who does not respect you,” Carlo asserted and left the Ferrari Mansion with his daughter and wife.

Frederico lowered his eyes as Toscano family walked past him. As soon as they left, Josefina turned to Frederico. “Augustus has turned rebellious. Toscano family is in anger. I am afraid that it will affect your position, our sons and a daughter. I told you not to trust Augustus blindly and look what he did!” Josefina said and held her head.

“He is just angry. He will not do anything,” Frederico stated.

“Darling, are you again trusting him? You should now control his actions because his acts will affect us,” Josefina pronounced.

Frederico took out the phone from his pocket and called someone. “Bring Augustus home at any cost,” Frederico ordered at the phone.
