Chapter fourteen

“Mom, she….”.

“Let's just go. We are late already”. Zayn interrupted Silas, pulling me up.

As Zayn led us out of the dinning, I could feel the heat of his anger rolling off him in waves. Silas and Ezra followed closely behind, their eyes darting between us, a mixture of concern and frustration in their expressions.

I gave them a little smile, to indicate I was fine. Zayn opened the back seat door for me, before entering into the driver's seat. Silas and Ezra by my side.

The tension in the air was thick as Zayn fired up the car and pulled out of the driveway, the tires crunching against the gravel. Silas and Ezra were silent, their gazes locked on the road ahead.

I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, feeling a sudden sense of claustrophobia. They haven’t said a word. Were they mad at me?

"I'm sorry about earlier," I said softly, breaking the silence. "I didn't mean to cause trouble."

“Don’t you fucking dare apologise”. Silas growl angrily.
