CH 7

Jane Duncan's POV

I checked the watch on my wrist and it was exactly five o’clock meaning I’d been here for almost an hour now. Beads of sweat continued to effortlessly glide down the body. There was an air conditioner in the room but I was still soaked with sweat from head to toe. I was going to lose my job. I continued to cast my eyes to the floor since the man who was going to fire me was staring at me with so much anger in his eyes that I wanted to dig the ground and bury myself.

He cleared his throat and stood in front of me.

“I’m not going to fire you”

WHAT! Did I hear him right? Is this guy in his right mind?

“I can assure you that there is nothing wrong with my mind."

Damn, why did I say my thoughts.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to say that. It's just that I say shit when I'm nervous. I obvoiusly wasn't trying to insult you. Okay so maybe I did insult you but It wasn't on purpose. Ugh I probably should stop talking now."
