Chapter 4 : PRESENT

I ate the sausage and mash alone, sitting on the kitchen island on my very first wedding anniversary when the door bell rang. I set my plate aside and quickly got down, wiping my mouth with the back of my hand before making my way to the door.

But before I could reach the door, Hayden appeared, holding out his hand at me. "I'll get it."

I nodded briefly and he moved to the door and swung open it.

After a few moments, he shut the door, reappearing to my sight with a box of pizza in his right hand. Our eyes met for a split second before I turned around and walked towards the kitchen.

"Emma.."

I turned back a bit fast than I was supposed to, and he cleared his throat, scratching his left brow.

"You've got time?"

"For what?" I asked cautiously.

"Uh.. to watch some movie and chill?"
