Chapter 4: Aphrodisiacs

When determining the noise coming from Amada's room, the doctor immediately ran in to see the situation. Nathan for some reason that is difficult to answer did not delay but followed suit.

"What do you want to do?" The nurse asked Amada again, the girl's panicked voice begging: "Please stay calm."

"Don't interfere." Amada's voice was grumpy.

"Don't do stupid things." The plea continued non-stop: "Slowly we will find a solution, please quickly put down the scissors."

"Let me die. I can't take it anymore." Amada's voice broke, she choked up begging.

"What happened?" The doctor panicked when he saw blood running on Amada's hand. Nathan looking at Amada's sight also gulped in bewilderment.

"She injured her hand with scissors." The green-faced nurse reported.

"Why is that?" The doctor was confused. This case is a real hit.

"Now she asked about her condition. I said she was poisoned by an aphrodisiac. Then she started to rebel." The nurse said in a frightened voice: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I didn't think she would be so agitated."

"Why not intervene, do something before she bleeds to death." Nathan watched the blood flow on Amada's wrist, urgently urging the doctor. He really couldn't see anymore. Something very sad welled up in his heart. The image of Amada now, probably will haunt Nathan for a while after this case is over.

"She's trying to control herself." The doctor turned to Amada and calmly drew a conclusion.

"What did he say?" Nathan was bewildered, he didn't understand: "She's hurting herself, can't you see? She'll surely die if she loses too much blood."

"Look at how she looks better." The doctor urges Nathan to turn his attention to Amada.

"Are you crazy, she looks..." Nathan's words stopped, he realized the doctor was right. Amada's condition looked messy, but he could see the comfort and peace on Amada's face.

"Her face looks sober." The doctor commented after a moment of silence.

"Why is that?" Nathan wondered, he really didn't understand the situation.

"Pain helps the body to distract, not to let lust be revealed." The doctor slowly explained: "That's why she hurt herself."

The doctor smiled, feeling very fortunate to have witnessed such a rare event, and proudly continued: "As we can see, this girl has amazing powers of reason. She is trying to stay sober so as not to lose control. Regardless of the physical damage to the body. It is better to be in pain to not give in to temptation."

Hearing all the explanations, Nathan silently observed Amada. He wonders Why is it so difficult? Isn't it enough to just release the mere human sense of lust? What's wrong with sex? Nathan didn't understand at all, he was confused. Nathan suddenly felt that his life views, arguments, and actions were not correct. Looking at Amada for a long time, Nathan's heart suddenly surged with a strange feeling. For the first time, Nathan meets a woman, ready to die to preserve her dignity, going with the laws of nature's survival.

New.

Interesting.

Unique.

As a matter of course, with no precise explanation, Nathan's heartbeat vibrated with throbbing rhythms. He felt a flutter when he looked at Amada. And so the sudden love affair made Nathan not surprised.

Nathan involuntarily, his body on instinct, slowly walked towards Amada.

"Don't come over here," Amada shouted a warning. She was struggling furiously, torn between her desire to attack Nathan to satisfy her mundane desires, her last remaining rational half. Amada's voice begged: "I don't want to hurt anyone. I'm about to lose control of myself. So, please... Let me die..."

Amada choked on a sob, continued to cut her wrist again, the pain caused her to let out a dreary scream. She needs to preserve her dignity.

Couldn't bear to see Amada desperately trying to control her natural desires. Nathan has come to a decision.

"I'll help you," Nathan suggested.

"How?" Amada looked at Nathan with glazed eyes. She is suspicious of everything.

The toxin suddenly ramped up when Amada caught Nathan's ash gray eyes looking at her.

"It hurts, it hurts, let me die." cried Amada, deliberately pressing the scissors down her wrist to deepen the cut.

With one swift movement, Nathan snatched the weapon from Amada's hand. He dropped the scissors on the floor. Amada excitedly protested, but before her voice escaped her mouth she fainted in Nathan's arms. Nathan attacked, hitting Amada on the back of the neck, knocking Amada unconscious.

"Please bandage her wound." Looking at Amada's peaceful face in his arms, Nathan had a word for the doctor.

Quickly, a man in his forties stepped forward, acted quickly, quickly stopped the bleeding, and bandaged Amada's wrist wound.

"Thank you, Doctor." Nathan politely expressed his gratitude.

"I just want to say that the toxin is still active when she wakes up. It needs to be eliminated from her body, that's the only solution."

The doctor reminded Nathan.

"I understand," Nathan replied softly. Nathan has made a definitive decision, he will help Amada. On top of that, he was very willing to take responsibility for Amada afterward.

The doctor sighed and shook his head. He felt helpless, for the first time in his medical career. He had never been in such a difficult situation. Usually, serum can help remove all toxins including aphrodisiacs. But I don't understand why Amada's case turned out like this?

Could there have been an error in the procedure, or was someone else taking the wrong drug instead of the serum? And maybe it's God's will. Who knows, Fate always has strange and complicated arrangements that make people miserable and miserable.

"Can I get her out of the hospital?" Nathan consulted the doctor. He made a firm decision on what he would do to save Amada.

"Of course, she didn't have any injuries other than what we all know. The cut on her wrist wasn't serious either." The doctor smiled approvingly. He also secretly guessed what Nathan was going to do, hoping that everything would go well.

Without another word, Nathan then carried Amada out of the hospital.
