Leilani-
Sometime during the ride, I fell asleep. When I woke up, I was lying across the seat, with my head on Eric’s lap. Sitting up abruptly, I had a rush of dizziness run over me.
“We are almost there.” Eric’s soothing voice proclaimed.
I decided to ignore the fact that I had just woken up on Eric’s lap by not mentioning it. If he wasn’t saying anything about it, either was I. Looking out the window again, I realized the sun was starting to peek over the mountains.
If there was one thing I loved about living in Colorado, was the mountains. Not only did the air seem fresh, but the views were remarkable. When we passed a gate, I moved a little closer to Eric, so I could peer out the windshield.
Tate drove us through the streets, occasionally stopping to let a child that was playing run to catch the ball that got away from them. They all looked so happy and full of laughter. I couldn’t help but envy them as
Leilani-For the life of me, I couldn’t fathom why I reached out to accept his hand. I expected him to let it go when I got out of the vehicle, but he held on as he guided me toward the building. Part of me wanted to pull my hand away, while the other wanted to hold on.There was something about his touch that soothed me, one in which I didn’t understand. It was both comforting and there was something else that I couldn’t put my finger on. Why was it that when he was touching me, I felt all my worries fade away?We reached a door that had the number one on it, in a bold black font. It was simple which made me feel a little better about the place. The mansion was huge and extravagant, yet this place seemed much plainer, like me.Eric opened the door and allowed me to go inside first. That was also when he released my hand. My hand which had once been warmed by his touch suddenly felt cold. When they say never to judge a book by its
Eric-With the new information about her not having a wolf, I didn’t want to leave her side. I considered telling her that we were mates. If it weren’t for the fact I thought she would laugh at me, I probably would have. Now I just had to come up with a way to stay close to her, without her catching on that I was her mate. It wasn’t that I didn’t want her to know, I just wanted her to find out for herself. I highly doubt she would believe me anyway.I knew she would be safe at Black Fang since everyone would ensure her safety. The problem I was having was, that she was too far away from the packhouse. If, and I do mean a big if, something was to happen, I wouldn’t be able to get to her in time. The apartment was on the far side of the territory. There was a closer apartment complex we could have used. Brook and I had discussed that it would be better if those we brought in had a little privacy. For someone that had bee
Eric- “Fuck!” I bellowed, getting out of the vehicle myself. Chasing after her, I was surprised at how fast she ran. Even without her wolf counterpart, she was fast as fuck. Picking up my pace, I continued after her. “Need help?” One of the warriors yelled out, while I was pretty sure I heard the other one laughing. Ignoring them, I kept running after Leilani. Obviously, they didn’t think I needed them to intervene, since neither of them made any move to help. Not that I wanted their help, it just pissed me off that they were amused by it. Catching up to her, I reached out to grab her arm. Once I had a firm hold on it, I pulled her back. Underestimating the momentum our running, as well as my stopping, was going to have, we both tumbled to the ground. As we rolled, I instinctively wrapped my arms around her to keep her safe. As we came to a stop, I was sprawled out over her. She looked up at me with wide purple eyes, that completely le
Leilani-I have only been to a restaurant once before in my life, at least that I could remember. Before Alpha William stopped coming around me, he took me outside of the territory because he had business in town. There wasn’t much I remembered about then, except for one thing. What had to be the most delicious thing I had ever tasted, I could never forget. Ah, there it is, I thought as I looked over the menu. Chocolate cake. Whoever thought to create this, was an absolute genius in my books.“Is there anything I can start you off with?” The waitress said when she returned with the waters we ordered. There was only one thing on this menu that I knew I would like. Other stuff sounded good and all, but you could say I was a picky eater. It could have to do with the limited foods I have been exposed to as well.“How about your monster nacho cheese platter?” Eric asked the waitress.Looking over the top of my menu,
Eric-Was it wrong of me to be enjoying the look on Leilani’s face right now? She appeared both infuriated and speechless. When I told her I wanted her to move in with me, I hadn’t been lying to her.Since she told me she was without a wolf, I have been racking my brain trying to come up with a solution. When she decided to get an attitude with me, I had thought that I needed to show her a better way of life. The only way I could was if she was in the packhouse. That was when the solution came to me. I did have a spare room and once I told Tate what was going on, there was no way he would deny her staying with me. Maybe I found it appealing that I would also get to push that attitude back of hers.At first, it had gotten on my nerves, now I felt like I could have fun with it. Based on her reaction to me telling her she didn’t have a choice in the matter, I could tell I was going to love giving her back what she dished out. Excitement fil
Leilani-There was no way he was telling me the truth. Brook didn’t seem like she has led anything but a perfect life. In just the few minutes I was around her, she did nothing but smile and look happy.Eric reached toward me and placed his finger under my jaw. When he pushed up, I realized my mouth had been wide open. Shaking my head, I blinked at him a few times, this time keeping my mouth closed. He pulled his hand back, which kind of bugged me a little. I wasn’t sure why I cared if he touched me or not. I should be relieved he pulled back, except I wasn’t. Now I craved his touch, in a way I couldn’t begin to fathom.“You have to be kidding me.” I blurted out when my mind returned to the subject at hand.“’Fraid not darlin’. When Tate had found her, she had barely been alive. Some of her classmates had beaten her just seconds from her life. She has come a long way since then, but she was in a
Eric-After having a maid take all the stuff we brought back with us upstairs to Leilani, I rode my motorcycle to the store once more. Returning with a bedding set that matched her eyes, I had it sent up as well. Finding Tate, along with Brook in his office, I didn’t bother knocking. If the door had been closed, I would have undeniably knocked. I had discovered the hard way not to enter a room they were in if the door was closed. Let’s just say there are some things in this world I never wanted to see.“I was about to send a search party to go look for you.” Tate snickered when I plopped down on the sofa.“Yeah, sorry it took so long.” I groaned as I rubbed my hand over my face.Unexpectedly, I felt completely depleted. It was like the past twenty-four hours just hit me. I was both physically and mentally drained right now. On the plus side, I was also humming with exhilaration, from having a mate.“
Eric- It was an innocent question, yet it pissed the hell out of me that he even considered the possibility of me rejecting her. On the other note, he made a valid point. There were dive bars that we could get into and put our noses to the ground, but unless she has the rank to back her up, she would only get walked all over. As much as I hated it, there were a lot of wolves that looked down on anyone that they felt was less than their standing. Technically I wasn’t an Alpha, but even I had Alpha clearance in other packs and the other resources our kind had outside of our pack. A lot had to do with the fact I had Alpha blood, even as a Beta. “First, fuck you for thinking I would reject my mate.” I growled out the words while wondering if I knock my brother’s teeth down his throat. Even Desmond released a growl, which made my growl sound louder and more challenging. Brother or not, I had no problem kicking his ass for even suggesting it. At that moment, I felt a s
