The week almost went on in a smooth flow. Devin’s kind gestures towards me and his employees continued to excite everyone. They actually congratulated me - that wasn’t necessary - one way or the other. The attention being given to us by my co-employees was starting to feel usual to me. Although, sometimes I still feel that I don’t belong in Devin’s perfect world.
Devin called me to his office by Friday morning.
“Did you need anything?” I was a little puzzled because Friday was a lean day for him.
“Come here, Babe” that endearment he uses towards me is getting familiar as the day goes by. He motioned me to sit on his lap but I didn’t do as he asked. “Here” he patted his lap, but I shook my head.
“We’re in your office, Devin” I bit my lip. His offer was tempting. However, I need to stay in my place.
