Chapter 13

I woke up to Leornado planting a kiss on my forehead, when he saw that I was looking up at him he froze. His eyes widened and he tried to come up with the lamiest excuse I’ve ever heard.

“There was a fly on top of your forehead”

“Uhuh, sure”

“Why didn’t you tell me that you had got hurt” He asked changing the subject.

“I forgot”

My reply made him angry and he kept ranting about how I should take better care of myself or that I should let him know when I’m hurt. I felt a strange feeling, a feeling I’d never felt before. His words warmed my heart but still, I decided to be harsh, covering my heart with steel once more. I reminded him that I didn’t need his protection or anyone’s protection.

He responded with the same words as usual that he knew. I looked around and recognized that we were back at home and I was in his room.

“It’s almost daybreak” He muttered.

I got up from the bed and pushed his hand away when he tried to stop me from walking away. I left without words and my
