Chapter 10
The waves, the beautiful, calming waves. Their resonance, slow rolling and crashing, and white caps cresting over and plunging back into the water fully display the beauty and majesty of creation from the shoreline. Larry is standing on the bridge, looking down, and the cars passing by are hooting.
“Get off the bridge; your an idiot.” Larry looks back; “I will miss nothing about this world.”
Spreading out his arms, he’s about to lean forward; when someone pulls him back, he falls backward. “Are you so weak that the first sign of trouble you decide to end your life?” This is a familiar voice; it's deep. Looking up is the bright sun, and he sees a tall, dark figure standing over him.
Holding his hand in front of his eyes to block out the sun, he sees a hand; as he reaches out to the hand, it pulls him up like a feather.
“This is Lucifer, Lucifer Morningstar he repeats in his head.”
“I knew you would come for me, just not this soon.”

Winter has been quiet; she has not spoken to Joshua for two days. He attempts to call her, and her phone is off. Something does not feel right. Joshua gets dressed and walks to her house; no one is outside. Joshua knocks on her door, and there is no answer. He then walks to the window and looks through it. He hopes she doesn't know his heart is in the palm of her hand. Joshua has been manipulated and deceived before. He has his flaws His heart has been broken from time to time. He wouldn't have to tell her twice because she knows her heart is only his. Joshua always wished her the best, and the best will always be him. Winter turned away from him and hurried out the door. He became angry because his dad raised him into the monster he was. He let her in his life; the least he could've gotten was a consideration. He thought about her leaving him permanently, and it made him furious. Joshua was shaking in anger. He needed to break something. He turned to his side and spotted the first thing. Joshua groaned out of anger and punched the window. The chips of glass dug into my knuckles and bled profusely, but he could care less at that point. “So, will you tell me who sent you or not?” Lucifer stood next to him, gripping the pliers filled with blood. Strapped to the chair, Lucifer grinned at the guy his men caught. “How much more pain can you take?” He took his cigar and burned it on the open flesh wound of the broken nail. Screaming in agonizing pain, he pleaded to be killed instead of staring death in the eyes and being tortured every second that went by; Lucifer sat there and lit another cigar. “So, are you going to tell me who sent you?” Lucifer stood up and walked around the twenty-eight gang member, “you killed an innocent girl; you will tell me who sent out the order.” Lucifer patted him on the shoulder. “If you don’t speak, you know what happens.” Larry enters and kicks over the chair covering his mouth with a wet cloth. “It has been one long day; you better speak up.” Just before the guy is about to pass out, Larry removes the cloth. “Who sent you?”
